Chrono (2024)

Fun short little game. Reminiscent of Portal. The concept is phenomenal and is impressive to be completely developed by one guy. Some of the puzzles were quite interesting as well as the few short platforming portions. Great little concept that I hope gets picked up by a larger publisher. I also have a Youtube video coming out soon on this game. I will edit this review with the link once it is published. I just have a couple gripes with it. 1. The Mazes suck. There is no reason to use the remote for anything in them except to pause everything before going in. There is a lot of potential with it though with going up and down that could be implemented somewhat like the invisible wall maze in the last level. 2. Voice acting is mid. Sounds way too robotic with no emotion. Like "Oh no what are we going to do?" without sounding the least bit frantic. 3. Not much leeway with the deaths and way too sudden/loud. In conjunction with this, the last level does not have enough checkpoints. The last level took over 40 minutes because I had to keep redoing a good portion of it because I was screwing up one of the last jumps. 4. Could use some more background noise (music, ambience, sound effect…

Good but short puzzle game (about 6 hours for me, depending on if you can figure out what to do or not) You get the impression at the start that its a puzzle-platform but actually its more of a pure puzzlegame The final levels of the game provides some interesting challenges, and you need to invent some fun tricks based on the mechanics (backward,freeze,forward) in order to progress Theres some frustration at endgame: the game would have needed more checkpoints because you might accidentally hit something and then either get crushed or burned and it would be better with more checkpoints in case that happens. But overall the frustration is mild. Hoping the developer wants to create more challenging levels, of the same difficulty as the last level

Great puzzle game, and even though it's short you get a good amount of content for it's price. The puzzles themselves are quite good but some mechanics can be quite frustrating. You get crushed wayyy too easily (specially when trying to get on top of a platform, and timed mechanics like crushing boxes can be a pain in the ass to time correctly.

Fun and varied first-person puzzle game that doesn't overstay its welcome! Levels all felt unique, and the mechanic was engaging and intuitive. There are achievements for beating the dev times, but they never felt unfair or like I had to optimize to an annoying degree. Great time for a great price.

Challenging and fun game.

Gameplay: - Interesting mechanic with the remote allowing you to pause, unpause, rewind and fast foward the environment - Puzzles are overall interesting, but sometimes I felt like there was a big reliance on misdirection. - Maze portions are tedious and confusing. Got "stuck" in the big maze in level 6. - Jumps are a bit to floaty. Sometimes hard to "parkour" as required Sound Design: - Not the greatest quality in terms of recording but I enjoyed the voice acting. Felt however that it became to sparce as the game went along. - Background music is lacking Overall: - Nice, rough around the edges, game to play for the limited run time - Worth it for the price
