very fun and silly but by god the wall jump is horrible and poorly explained.

Basic, boring and tries way too hard to be funny/clever. You start with all the weapons too so whats the point of even playing past the first level? Levels are just jumping from platform to platform and starting back from the beginning if you fall. Pass on this.

Mark of Cain is a deliberately wild retro-style arena shooter built around speed, mobility, demonic violence, and an unapologetically absurd sense of humor. Developed and published by Mangas Mango Studios, it takes familiar ingredients from old-school first-person shooters and pushes them through a much more chaotic modern filter. Rather than concentrating on realistic gunplay or cinematic storytelling, the game wants players to keep moving, experiment with traversal mechanics, blast through supernatural enemies, uncover secrets, and embrace the ridiculous situations that emerge along the way. The story follows John Demonhunter, a Greek demon slayer whose centuries of supernatural conflict eventually lead to him receiving the Mark of Cain. The punishment effectively makes him immortal while condemning him to an existence filled with endless violence. The Devil naturally becomes involved, sending demons and increasingly strange opponents after him. It is a premise that could have supported a grim supernatural adventure, but the game intentionally goes in the opposite direction. this game is a pretty silly 30-ish minute romp through an unserious and oddly difficult world. The guns are powerful, but feel stale, and you only get a few during the entire game. Enemies either chase you or fire at you with little nuance, but the sprites are very beautiful and somewhat horrifying. Bosses are lackluster, corporate greed is the only one I really bothered with. The others, especially satan, were bullshitty and monotonous. For what is presumably a first or early project for this dev, I think mark of cain is impressive and pretty fun. 6/10
