dirtbag MAHJONG

Mahjong is a fairly simple game, and for this game to not only build off it, but also make a comprehensive system with skills for multiple characters that genuinely change up how they play without necessarily feeling like one is more overpowered than the others, absolutely rules. The writing is exceptional (multiple times I've stopped to take screenshots to share), but honestly, the gameplay just shines so much. Even when I lose (and of course I lose, it's mahjong), I keep formulating new strategies and synergies around what's happening. As a long time mahjong player, this is both a breath of fresh air, and a delight.

One of the better english mahjong games but it's short with not much replay value. Gameplay even on the fastest CPU setting is painfully slow and there's a lot of waster UI space that makes this feel like an in-development indie game. The chapter challenges are very basic and restrictive, and the difficulty isn't there. I would like it if the game had more characters in the cast, or more abilities. That said, I think it has a very good core, and I would like to play more of this game, I think DLC or expansions for other challenges/characters could make this game very special. If nothing else comes out of this, it's a fun 2-3 hours.

Played less than an hour but already really enamored with the writing in this. its really cute and funny. i love the characters alot and cant wait to hear more from them through the story. The mahjong itself is fun as well. Im not sur eif im sold on dirtbag rules yet but its a neat idea to spice things up a little bit and fits the story in a fun way. excited to play more

cute art style and fun characters :) big fan of vren because he's a little annoying brat who wants to get hit so that she can deal unnecessary damage to everyone for absolutely no reason at all and their voice lines when it taunts people is peak brat. would electrocute myself again!! for the gameplay side, I do think I would've enjoyed more story, especially post-match dialogue for successful chapters. initially did not vibe with the skills too much but ended up warming up to them. I think they're fine while playing singleplayer, but I think they'd really shine when you're in a call with friends for mahjong night!

Really enjoyed this. I was new to Mahjong and got those to complement Kemono on my phone (I don;t want to just re-buy the same thing on Steam), and this has been a great learning tool playing regular mode, but going through the stories was also great -- enjoyable writing, adorable art, and the abilities spice up the game and make you try different strategies. My biggest critique is that the two low-difficulty characters' chapters have a lot of game goals that require you lose games (or at least do worse than another character) -- It's not rewarding to have throw away a good hand, especially when you are learning. Fortunately those goal types are limited to a few chapters. The game summary screen could maybe use some more scoring details, but that's really all I can complain about, and the the pros far outweigh the cons. Great game, get it.

Honestly a nice option learning how to throw tiles or just have a spicier jong experience.
