Welcome to Doll Town

Game is way too short and has almost nothing going on. The proof of concept is there but the execution is not it. Do I almost have all the achievements. Yes. Why is my playtime around 2 hours if the game is so short you might ask? Two words: Mrs. Hanabari. It's like the Dev didn't even play test that fight. I got stuck getting my ass beat forever until I somehow managed to defeat her. Plus, every time you die, you have to walk forward in the house and defeat a doll to get the key that leads to the boss room then watch a short cutscene. I see the Dev announced a major update that is going to "rebuild the game from the ground up." So... we'll see. Maybe my opinion will change then but as of now. Nah.

Short, but fun and well written

A game with buggy visuals and a deep story. The game doesn't really guide you but yet you are on rails. There are times when you mess up early can affect your gameplay later on and it isn't by players choice. I just so happened to close the game out and restart because the audio bugged out or stopped playing all together, this was after finding the crowbar inn the conveniant store. Well later on that crowbar is needed to fight a boss which this crowbar could no longer be found in my inventory leaving me to fight the boss with only my fists. The combat is stiff and visuals are buggy but yet if you can get past that this game was made by a solo dev with a passion then there is a deeper story to this game. One about awareness to bullying and the lengths one would do for love. The game is short, and you will end up walking everywhere just to find an objective. Don't go into with high expectations, go into it with knowing you are here to understand a deeper feeling.

Despite being a horror game, the game itself is full of memes and some easter eggs (Squid Game Doll, Link's shield etc.) and they were some kind of relaxation from the scary environment of the game, Sadly, this game is really short. The game can be finished in 40 minutes or somewhere around that if you don't loiter or look around in details and continue the story mindlessly (I've done that on my 2nd run). Some elements were introduced in the game but they weren't used. I thought that I might be able to contact someone through the phone which is introduced at the very start of the game but I couldn't. I thought that Mio and father being able to use combat in their scenarios will result into sort of fight during the story. The explanation of how Mio's doll was made was really interesting. I thought I had to remember the details of doll making in order to fight her boss but there wasn't even her boss fight or something to do with the details given. Some of the costumes were really good and I wish that they are obtainable but they were just for fundraisers who have donated for the game early development for a high price of 25 USD per skin (minimum donate to unlock skins) The combat sys…
