🕹️ Gameplay: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 📖 Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🎨 Visuals: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🎵 Music: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🔄 Replayability: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ❤️ Enjoyment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Metal Slug 3 is easily my favorite of the Metal Slug games I played so far. The gameplay is just as fun, chaotic and creative as ever, with a great variety of enemies and vehicles. The story is once again told through visual storytelling, but it is easy to understand and works well without relying on dialogue. The 90s pixel-art visuals have aged surprisingly well, especially thanks to the incredibly expressive character designs and again the fantastic aliens. The soundtrack is also full of high-energy bangers. The highlight for me was the final level. It was completely unexpected and incredibly epic, turning the finale into something much grander than I anticipated. It was a fantastic way to end the game and easily one of the most memorable moments of the entire series. I have also replayed Metal Slug 3 more than the other games, partly because I gifted it to friends and have already played it twice with two different friends. Overall, this is the standout Metal Slug game for me. ⭐ Overall Rating: 4/5

I mean… amazing pixel art and animation. Sound is very borked on Steam Deck, like bad emulation or something, but the visuals are super smooth, just changed some basic settings to get no filtering for those crisp pixels, and full-screen. Very smooth frame rate. That last mission, phew.

Less forgiving and longer than the previous metal slug games. But I find it very good as it has new weapons, vehicles and more enemy types. I also like that there is the option to choose between different paths and even a secret level ( or more? I only managed to find one ). The story is in my opinion better than the previous games, especially the plot twist at the end. Good soundtrack too.
