Vox Machinae

This game cannot be played as intended.[/quote] When you take one look at Vox Machinae you'll sit bolt upright... yes, this really is a Western mecha game, but it's not like Hawken (Hawken was just Quake Arena with battlemech skins, not a true mecha game... no wonder it failed). Brilliant! It would take an incredible degree of incompetence at the highest level of game architecture for a Mechwarrior Online ripoff to fail. The developers, however, managed to display an incredible degree of incompetence at the highest level of game architecture, so this failed. "Vox Machinae" is a failed PvP game. Why is it dead? It's time for a video game autopsy! There's something I've noticed with so many bad games played and reviewed... developers almost always fail the "look around you" test. All developers, always, before spending $100 on Steam Direct, must stop. They must look around. They must look at the Steam catalogue of over 140,000 games, and ask: "Are any of these both similar to and much better than the game I am trying to …

Functionally single-player only since apparently nobody plays multiplayer. The campaign isn't great either, no resources to gain or manage, just decent-ish missions that are too slow to be all that much fun.

Has the game been abandoned

The death of this game is one of the saddest things I've seen. It wasn't originally the most popular game on vr, but I would say that it's one of (if not) the best. This is one of the most innovative games I have played. I'm very glad they added a campaign so those who stuck around could still play this gem of a game. 10/10 I hope that this game comes to the spotlight and shines 1000 times brighter than it ever has.

Im a longtime veteran of the mechwarrior games and this is way worse than those. The mech has limited customizablity and is unbelievably slow. Slower than the heaviest mechs in mechwarrior online. The writing is awful. The gameplay isnt great either. Most guns seem to have no recharge time or ammo. The entire thing feels very slapped together.

Seemed promising at first, but became stuck in an early headquarters sequence, either due to a bug or my limited intuition and patience necessary to trigger whatever event needed to transpire in order for me to actually continue experiencing any type of actual game content, of which the tiny amount I had been permitted to experience up to this point seemed kind of half-baked, anyway, so no loss other than the little bit of time and money already wasted.
