Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue

I played Shadow Empire, then DC: Barbarossa (great fun!), and then this. This is the oldest of the three, and it shows.. but the engine is still great for a wargame, and this includes the various 1942-1943 scenarios so there is variety. Definitely a thumbs up if you're interested in revisiting the eventual disaster that was Fall Blau.

Pretty good. You might like it if you are interested in this specific campaign. It is not quite as good as the Barbarossa version. It is not reasonable to expect a competitive game against an AI and that is true here (played as Russians against German AI and eventually Germans were left just holding Odessa!). There are so many units there is probably too much micro-management. Map and units are very good. Interface is intuitive and easy to pick up. Liked the card play although it seems to matter only on the margins. Lots of good chrome here. I would recommend trying a smaller scenario first to see if you like it.

Haven't played this one as much as Blitzkrieg or Barbarossa as it's a bit more in depth than those two and focuses on a part of the war I find less interesting, I would class this as a mini monster. It has PBEM++ which is great, a feature sorely missing in Blitzkrieg and the latest DC game Ardennes. In any case, from the short time I've played this, I can say I would 100% recommend it, and with more time played it's likely I will consider this a masterpiece like the other DC games

This is a great operational game which puts you in a position where you have to make important decisions, more so than any other wargame I have played. It is in my opinion one of the best operational wargames I have ever played, It is a bit of a learning curve compared with some other similar games of this type but it is well worth it and I would highly recommend it

Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue is a well-made and fun game. It hits nicely at the operational level, between tactical and strategic for those wanting to war game at that level. There is just enough detail to give players the ability to do analysis, but is not overwhelming. Enough is abstracted, or can be somewhat ignored, if players want to focus on fighting the battles and not get bogged down administratively.

have both german offensive scenario and then uranus operation by the soviets to try shatter german forces, is strategic is tactical and its operational, in example when the 11 army ends with the siege at sevastopol one strategic deccission is where send the 11 army, victory conditions are flexible with an option to turn in hardcore dissmisal rules, perfect game, highly encouraged
