✦ AI summary

Oaken Tower is praised by players as an engaging and relaxing autobattler with excellent variety in items and synergies that encourages creative experimentation, complemented by fast gameplay and responsive developers. However, several players report frustration with the shop UI becoming cluttered and difficult to navigate when managing multiple items, particularly the tedious drag-and-drop mechanics for item management.

The game itself is simple and fun. There are a lot of different combos and synergies you can play with. The down side is the matchmaking system and multiplayer syncing. Matching needs a lot of work. As a brand new player, playing casual pits you against unbeatable opponents every match. Want to try ranked thinking you'll be matched with similarly skilled players? Nope! Chuck Testa. You also have moments of excitement thinking you won a round only to have the game "sync" and you actually lost. In testing, this issue is wildly variable with both players in multiplayer seeing a win but still receiving a loss or one person seeing a win and the other seeing a loss with a loss being the default result regardless of what's shown. The economy is similar to TFT but with no interest or win loss streak and is fairly basic. The options for periodic upgrades are very limited in usefulness and do not change the game in meaningful ways. The tower slot buff system is interesting but has some major downfalls including some upgrades not activating because it tries to apply to a slot that already has an effect therefore not having any effect. It's early access so I am hoping these issues get fixed b…

I want to recommend this game, but the simple reality is the developer has completely lost the plot. The -update that added fairy and vampire to the game has well and truly ruined it. I couldn't put the game down in season one...now I can barely stand to play it. Even when dark builds were dominating the meta the game was still fun, the current experience is abysmal. Running into builds on day three that look like they should be on day ten is unacceptable. The ranked grind has only gotten more painful with every update, and endless feels pointless at this point. Not having the ability to concede in duos is really annoying in the early game. I hope the game gets back to some degree of balanced meta. If it does I would happily recommend this game to anyone, but as it sits right now I would avoid this game like the plague.

Pretty fun game, but unfortunately they decided to tie achievement completion to duos and if you play alone and know nobody to make a lobby with you can't queue with randoms it seems. Part of this game's fun after learning the innate meta and doing stuff on repeat is the challenge of beating the entire game through achievements (3* clears with certain items, 10* wins with certain items, wins under certain conditions) but that being made obsolete by something out of your control is extremely lame. I'd get the game if you like async autobattlers to pass the time, but if you want a full completion game you don't have to jump through hoops for; currently this isn't it.
