12 Labours of Hercules XVI: Olympic Bugs

[h1]Saving the world from AI :o[/h1] [h2]Introduction[/h2] [i]12 Labours of Hercules XVI: Olympic Bugs[/i] is a time management game developed by Zoom Out Studios and Jetdogs Studios and published by Jetdogs Studios. As the name states, it is the 16th game in the [i]Hercules[/i] series. You take on the role of Hercules, and this time, there's chaos on Olympus. The gods, specifically Hephaestus, has created machines to help out people. However, these machines end up having minds of their own, and they rebel against humans. Thus, it's up to Hercules, his wife Megara, and their helpers to stop these bugs and find out why they've gone out of control. XD As for the gameplay, there are a total of 50 story levels, along with 5 bonus levels and 1 super bonus level. The bonus levels are unlocked by finding puzzle pieces hidden in the story levels and then putting them together in separate levels to create a picture. As for the super bonus level, it's unlocked by completing all of the bonus levels. You can choose from the usual difficulty modes: relaxed, casual, or expert. For review purposes, I played the majority of levels on casual mode although I did play some on expert mode.…

Positive, with caveats. I love the series, it helps my anxiety somehow. I've been playing since the very first one, for probably a decade. I own literally all 16. I'll go back and play old ones, just because the clickety-click soothes me somehow. That said, I have one big problem with this newest release. Not enough Hermes obelisks/speed power-ups. It's infuriating having the little guys just CRAWLING around the level. There's some interesting new things, mainly the "Gift of the Gods" power-up, but the lack of speed on some levels is just super aggravating. There's also a few levels that if you don't take exactly the right steps at the beginning, you'll get to a point where you just can't advance, and have to start over. Say, there will be literally no way to get more gold, and you have something that needs gold. I don't hate that too, too much, I'll start a level over and strategize a little better. I'm about halfway through, I'm as of now giving it a B-, maybe even C+. Giving me a Demeter's Obelisk that I can level up three times but no Hermes Obelisk so I can even capitalize on it, nor enough other speed powerups, breaks the fun of it for me.

I like the saga, good fun if you like the genre - nice casual game
