There are some games that you can play for only a few minutes to know that you'll love them...instant classics. And than (of course) there are games like this one...playing a few minutes you'll know that it is nothing more than a waste of time. It starts with a no plot. I mean only after a few sentences our party is on the way to save a world that not worth saving. NPC's standing around and no reaction. Not even the standard *Hello*...nothing. Buildings with doors not opening. You know the usual shovelware. Heck, I am pretty sure that I've seen the first village in another game before (with the same NPC and treasure chests). Nope, avoid this one. Even on sale it is not worth your money. For me it is an Refund request!!!

A Heroine’s Story has some interesting ideas, but after about 2 hours and 30 minutes I ended up quitting because the experience became repetitive and frustrating. The basic JRPG structure is there. You explore small areas, see monsters on the map, fight them, open treasure chests, then move to the next dungeon. Encounters are visible instead of random, which I actually liked. Another mechanic I appreciated was how poison works: the debuff can persist after battle and slowly fades while walking around, which feels more immersive than the usual “battle-only” status effects. The music also surprised me in a positive way. Unfortunately, a lot of small design issues start stacking up quickly. The PC options are extremely limited. There is no borderless window mode, and if you play in windowed mode you cannot change the resolution. The game also minimizes when pressing the Windows key, which makes taking notes or switching apps annoying. Controls feel odd too: controller support exists but the layout feels off, and keyboard movement is limited to arrow keys instead of WASD. Combat has a few confusing systems. The party has HP, MP, and TP, but it is not clearly explained what TP does …
