A Quest That Became Legend

I would highly recommend this for any Blobber fans, and it is good. So I'm still recommending it. But the AI portraits and loading screens are god awful, hire some artists.

It has the soul of Might&Magic(6,7,8) and Wizardry 8. A much more minimalist version of the above, focused on combat. It absolutely nails it.

So much fun! Totally worth getting if you've ever enjoyed this type of game or want to try one. It has some quirks that it will help to know about ahead. There are only 4 classes, and a party is going to need to be one of each. But those 4 classes are very well done,. Assigning stat points on level, gearing up, and teaching characters new spells are all very, very satisfying, They gain some signature class skills on certain levels. Since a lot of gear requires some stats and a lot of gear gives some stats, I spend some (enjoyable) time scheming how to raise stats to achieve certain things. For example, if I just get my warrior's intelligence up a little more with gear, the warrior will gain a small XP boost. If my shaman is just a little faster, she'll start getting two actions per turn instead of one. Fun! There are several options under "Other" that can really help. By default, enemy move (animation) speed is on 400% and mouse scrolling is on 200%, so the game felt really twitchy to me. But those can be changed. Outside of combat, there's also a difficulty setting for easier (less enemy health) or harder if you wanted that, too. The music isn't inspiring me, so…

The game does have some jank and poor design decisions. That being said... After you get used to it there is a pretty good game in there. It would be great if the dev would update it to try to remove some of the rough edges though.

An amazing fun game!

I tried this game a year ago, for whatever reason, I could not get into it, but I tried again. What is helping me is starting with the easy difficulty mode, just to mess around and learn the game. After getting slaughtered by wolves a few minutes ago (welcome back, lol) I switched to easy mode, got a chance to learn the menus, spells, and skills of my group that I had made a year ago, and I can tell that this is my type of game. Read the tutorial, use easy mode to start, and have fun! I plan on switching to normal difficulty soon. My only wish would be the ability to use a xbox controller, then this would be perfect, but hey, its just one guy, and what he as made is simply incredible.
