About ABRISS - build to destroy

ABRISS is an atmospheric physics-destruction building game.
Build structures from parts to let them crash into your targets. Unlock new parts, destroy more, witness entropy at its worst in digital-brutalist cityscapes. Build to destroy.

BUILD

Choose from parts with different weights, forms and functions to build a structure.

Thruster + Connector + Bomb? You just built a rocket.
Thruster + Rotator + Laser? You just built a rotating laser rocket.
Pillar + Connector + Ultra Heavy Cube? That's a giant hammer.

Be creative and resourceful with the parts you get, try to destroy the target with less parts or in a more elegant way – it's going to be a spectacle any way you do it.

DESTROY

Try to hit the main targets to win a level in campaign mode. Destroy an armored wall first so you can then shoot through the hole into the vulnerable center. Try to hit a bomb in the environment. Use environment mechanics like the giant Pistons to catapult Ultra Heavy Cubes into a target. Or just throw everything you have at your targets – that might just work too.

  • COMPLEX DESTRUCTION SYSTEM

Simulated statics, thousands of little particles of debris, whole chunks of targets flying into the abyss – with little to no framerate spikes.
  • CAMPAIGN

Seven worlds with several stages including bonus levels each, every stage a hand-crafted destructible cityscape. You will start each stage with a limited set of parts and you will need to find a strategy on how to use them to destroy all main target blocks. You will unlock new parts the further you progress, and every world comes with it's own special environmental mechanic. You can always return to a stage to try to destroy a higher percentage of it, or do it in less moves.
  • SANDBOX

Try out new patterns of building stuff. Play around with parts you haven't unlocked yet. Try to fry your GPU with 1000 Lasers at once.
  • NEW: ENDLESS MODE

Play the new Endless game mode and try to reach the ultimate highscore.
  • PHOTO MODE

Take a free camera flying to get the best composition. Freeze or slow down time to get the perfect shot of the destruction you just caused. Apply filters to change the vibe of your photography. Export in wonderfully sharp 4k jpegs. Share them with us!
  • CONTROLLER SUPPORT & REMAPPABLE CONTROLS

Take control in your own hand and use your gamepad. All controls are remappable, of course!
  • TURNAROUND GIF CAM

Create your own perfectly looping turnarounds of the mayhem you cause!
  • STEAM WORKSHOP SUPPORT

Safe and load your own creations localy or to and from the Steam Workshop. This is easily do-able with a custom UI in sandbox mode.

Like other reviews have said the physics in this game are not deterministic, so for many levels you will have to reset repeatedly with the exact same solution in the hopes of getting an outcome that achieves 100% or even just clears the level. A deeply frustrating experience which isn't helped by the sluggish controls and often times uncomfortable camera angle.

Build it. Smash it. Fun.

Interesting game, fun ideas and concept but plague with issues. You would expect from a physic based destruction game that they are consistent but they aren't, let me explain: For example if you run sub 60fps, the parts (springs for example) doesn't work at all. Until you get a proper frame-rate you will be soft-locked. Note that dropping resolution or settings barely affect the performances. If your game is not running flawlessly you will struggle to solve those puzzles. Input has a lot of latency you will see a delay when you trying to control the rotating part. Camera perspective is awful, so you must switch to free camera mode to properly evaluate elevation and what you are aiming at. So... forget playing this game if your pc is "weak". I had to switch to my rtx 3090 workstation to play it. My minipc wasn't able to handle this game (720p, potato settings and 0 AA get you sub 30fps). I had heavier game run better then this one. (why I use a mini pc is for power-consumption and convenience for travel)

kinda like reverse poly bridge

It seems cool and all but my time playing it was rather limiting, and when I was confused the game always just had a video showing you exactly what to do which... Defeated the purpose of it I'd say. A puzzle that supplies the solution isn't much a puzzle...

Brilliant fun! Nothing better than making things go boom! Great physics.
