The Alder Forge story is set in the western part of the Ertheryan continent. The game will take you during its four chapters to the Duchy of Elysia, the Kingdom of Royne, the Mighty Kingdom of Orvys, and the Atlas Court (The seat of your employer). In your adventures, you are going to face a dark plot that will try to engulf the continent and break the three centuries lasting peace. Meanwhile, you will discover that nothing is ever simpler than that while facing the complexity of human behavior and the lines that draw good and evil in each character you encounter throughout your journey, secret organizations, political entities, and other groups, each has their agendas and plots. Meanwhile, the five protagonists will be at the center of those events.
 • Adriel: Party Leader, known by his intelligence, pragmatism, and powers, Age:21
 • Mirabelle: Anima Caster, funny with a massive appetite, but serious when things get heated, Age:13
 • Cassandra: Heavy Arms, and the strongest defense of the team, Age:21
 • Leo: Archer and a disciple of the legendary Dead Eye, fun and quick to spot threats, Age:22
 • Fiona: An Elysian Knight, serious and unforgiving, she's equal if not stronger than Adriel, Age:21
The Alder Forge environment was carefully designed to convey the world you will engage and invest your time in, but it is also full of enigma, hidden secrets, and backstories, each element placed, sculpted, and handcrafted is there for a reason, The Fate of Ertherya is now in Your Hands.

Still needs a ton of polish. Auto text instead of being able to manually skip through text is rather annoying combat system seems fun Explosions and things when they happen seem way to bright and tend to slow the game down a bit not a lot but it is noticeable could very well be my rig who knows ( 1660 ti and and a 9th gen i7 9700 ) you can notice things in the background as they render in walking at about 2 frames per second Theres no force feedback when you try and symbol attack an enemy on the field it really is a matter of luck thats about all the things i noticed in my 4 hours with the game. There is something here that could be good but i feel as though it's just not ready yet. For a solo dev though it's rather impressive if you polish it up more you have something here mate i'll give this a thumbs up rather then a no steam needs an in between option.

A lot of good, fresh ideas in story. Unfortunately, combat interface is junky as hell with a lot of information missing. And there is way too much combat. I gave up when I realized that the game thought I will be level 12 when in actuality I was 9. The amount of grind required for it was way more than I wanted to invest. Padding with boring repetitive content just to lengthen a playtime is a bane of modern games, especially JRPGs.

The game does support Keyboard and Mouse controls, but doesn't support one important thing - it doesn't let you rebind "Confirm" to anything but enter, while camera is still moved by your mouse. That leads to a weird setup where you do everything on keyboard with your left hand except confirming actions, which requires you to press Enter. Taking hand off of mouse so often was infuriating. That's irrelevant, because if it didn't have the two glaring flaws I'm going to list now, it would be an awesome game anyway. * First: It seems that in this game you're mostly just traversing gigantic planes filled in with generic filler enemies. It has hit me like a train with the first in-building area, which had me just sprint hundreds of meters skipping all enemies through the corridors of that place. I didn't notice it earlier, but that building seemed to be MUCH smaller from the outside than inside. * Second: The very first objective that isn't a cutscene that you're going to receive is "Kill 10x of that enemy" and "Collect 5x of that". This has killed the game for me. I have already felt artificially held hostage for playtime by the huge areas, and that mission design was just an insult on…

30 hours to complete on easy mode, I wanted to focus more on the story. tdlr; neither terrible or great. It’s an alright RPG. I got it on sale, but felt it should have a steeper discount. I tried the demo first to see if I like it. The visuals alone… It is definitely not high budget, I’ll say that. But by the end of the media res and then the scene with the High Council, I’m like, okay, seems decent enough and it’s on sale. Why not buy it? What to say about this game… Some objects are just too large compared to the character models. Looks a bit ridiculous, like is this the world for giants? There’s a huge beds and a giant door in Atlas Court as an example. Either it’s time consuming to downsize these objects or just make the environment/world bigger to move around better? Story wise I felt
Gilbert
was unnecessary to the plot and doesn’t feel like he’s part of the team by the end. He could be entirely removed and you can write around anything related to him.
Silver Phoenix needs him to find his wife? Why don’t he invade the Magna Lumen strongholds like the one in Royne and interrogate them? Exposition of how the planet was like before? The sentin…
