Short but fun. Good music. Solid biomes. Decent enemy variety. Meaningful upgrades. Bosses were kinda bland but the 1 health mechanic was never frustrating. Took an hour to finish. Going into B tier on my MV list.

Sideways thumb. Going to flip this to a negative on hindsight. It's very basic, as one might have guessed. You die in 1 hit, but there are checkpoints everywhere. The retro music is nothing to write home about but has had some effort put into it which I appreciate. The game appears to be very short; The story has you collect 4 thingies, each guarded by a boss (I've killed 3 of the 4 in my short time with the game). The map, although bare-bones is serviceable enough, though missing collectables aren't marked and you can't place your own markings on the map. It's a proper mini metroidvania, not much to complain about. I'm not planning on playing through the rest of this game. It is competent though which makes it borderline for me on whether to leave a positive or negative rec. It's alright, albeit a bit too simple.
