Alice VR works on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and is also compatible with Razer OSVR. Traditional controllers are supported on Oculus, while both them and motion controllers work on Vive.
The game is designed to be the most comfortable VR experience possible. After a lot of research and discussions with gamers, we've learned how to make the game enjoyable even for players new to VR. We want you to feel relaxed through your entire playthrough.
Alice VR also works on a regular monitor, without a VR headset.

There’s an adorable robotic companion who pops up from time to time to offer cryptic advice, and tons of interesting environmental details. (...) An early one that involved rearranging pieces of a coil to reactivate the ships engine was simple and clever. Traversal puzzles that goof around with gravity are a delight to solve as they force a level of three dimensional thinking that is satisfying to solve.

The world that Carbon Studio has created is a fantastic mix of sci-fi architecture and bizarre dreamlike scenarios. The books inspiration can be seen everywhere, from the mechanical cat that occasionally appears to the out and out absurdly trippy experiences, sharks flying through the sky, menacing black and white forests, tunnels that twist and turn as your viewpoint changes, it’s a visual assault on the senses. Add to that the eerie audio score, and you have quite an engaging mixture.

With a five hour playthrough it’s one of the longer story-based VR titles, and with monitor support included, you can always experience the wacky world of Alice VR minus the VR.

Motion based controllers crash the game but standard gamepads do not. Make sure motion controllers are fully deactivated as you start. The first startup won't crash right away, but crashes will happen sooner and sooner as you restart. Use only standard gamepads such as an Xbox controller, PlayStation controller, etc. and the crashes will stop. On a Quest, to avoid touch controller recognition, connect to the PC using meta airlink, and NOT the steam link app, as your hands will now currently act as motion controllers with steam app by default. Alice VR will be added to the programs menu in meta airlink if you start it once, then within the meta airlink library you can start Alice VR with the gaze reticle and the A button on the Xbox controller connected directly to the PC. I don't see any reason a developer skilled enough to make a game like AliceVR couldn't program AliceVR to actively discard all motion inputs, then prompt you to grab a gamepad at the start. I've seen VR games prompt to grab a standard controller at least once before. I did not see any reason snap-turning couldn't be added as a non-default option.6 found this helpful
ALICE VR, developed by Carbon Studio and published by Klabater, is an ambitious science fiction adventure that reimagines the themes of Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland within a futuristic, otherworldly setting. Tasked with descending to the planet to locate vital resources, the player soon discovers that Speculo’s abandoned city hides far more than industrial ruins. Although ALICE VR can be played without a headset, its design and atmosphere are tailored specifically for virtual reality, emphasizing exploration and immersion over action. Adding to the negative reviews that this game will not work with modern systems/Oculus Meta 3. Even searching and applying the system environment variables you can find with google searches didn't work for me. It may work for others though. Let me know if you can get it working - and what the game is like, because I'll apparently never know since it crashes before even loading.
Won't start crashes at the load screen not the best experience and I can't refund since I got it from another site just don't buy it walk away.
