Astral Domine

Game was mediocre, but figured I could force my way through for two hours. Spent far too long trying to bounce a giant energy ball into a quad of pillars (two times, actually). Finally got past that part, then ball went onto a ledge that I fell past, so could no longer reach it. Watched in horror as it rolled off the other side of the ledge, never to be seen again. Wasn't about to start this extrememly frustrating sequence over again, and since no body bothered to implement a save feature (this particular chapter was far too long and frustrating), I quit. So, in summation, a mediocre game that quickly turns in to frustrating pice of crap, basically due to extemely poor design decisions.

Clunky controls. Not really fun at any point.

As other reviewers have said, this looks nice, has at least an okay story aaaand the gameplay is pretty terrible. I mean, it's not like an unfortunate number of other titles that manage to be nearly unplayable, but it certainly isn't a joy to play, and you likely won't find yourself coming back to it. That said... eh, it'd cheep, and better than some things at this price point for sure.

First of all yes, do recommend this game given the cheap price (£1.99 at time of posting), but it is not without significant problems directly affecting game play. The positives are an immersive VR experience, excellent voice acting (spaceship female British voice), a convincing alien landscape, not bad graphics, and a distinct structure to the experience. The problems experienced are related to game play, which I understand were even worse at one point. There still does not seem to be any game save in the checkpoint sense, albeit there are checkpoint entries to the game in the starting menu - but these are all available from the onset, and possibly tagged on as an afterthought in relation to previous saved problems. Not ideal and not really a save, but at least allows some form of entry position near your last point. There is over two hours of game play, and unlikely to be done in one sitting; or should I say standing as its a standing VR experience. The puzzles are fairly straightforward which is just as well as there appears little in the way of walk through online (An over 2 hr video is on You-tube without narration if desperation requires), but can be unbelievably…

2/10 A bit of a lame empty "open world" with not much to do. Lame combat too.

It was not worth its original asking price of $20, but at $3 or $1.5 it's definitely worth it!
