About ALTERITY EXPERIENCE
ALTERITY EXPERIENCE is a closed-door adventure game playable in first-person. The action takes place in present Lucy County, northern California, a region known for its unexplained phenomena. Many local farmers have found their farms covered in a mysterious purple substance.
In turn, you are confronted by the same phenomena. For some time, your neighbors claim to have seen them not far from your property. Your reactivity and a home automation application are the only weapons you have. An object of unknown origin might be the key to your survival; yet, it is hidden somewhere inside your home.
ALTERITY EXPERIENCE is above all:
- An immersive world: Explore the Cornwell Family Ranch, immerse yourself in the scenes and sounds of the 1970s and 1980s science fiction films.
- A test of survival: Prevent strange phenomena from entering the house. Move as fast as possible to block access directly or remotely through a home automation application.
- An enigma from elsewhere: Discover the location of a mysterious object whose origin is unknown to you and try to understand how it works by manipulating it. What good is it?
- A family story: Enter into the intimacy of the Cornwell family, review the numerous documents, and explore several rooms in the house for useful clues.

Alterity Experience offers an intriguing atmospheric mystery-focused horror experience with unique home automation-based mechanics that players find conceptually appealing, but the game is severely hampered by broken WASD controls that force diagonal movement instead of allowing straight lines, making basic navigation frustrating and requiring awkward simultaneous inputs that many find unplayable. While some appreciate the game's unusual approach to tension and atmosphere, the control issues are a critical flaw that undermines the experience and has led several players to refund the game.
At current state game esentialy unplayable, unless you are incredibly dextrious and can use the mouse, wasd, and up and down arrow keys all at once. W isnt a normal forward the character moves at an angle making basic movement a major chore. I belive the game has potential but only if they fix the issue12 found this helpful

Alterity Experience is different from usual horror adventure game. Its is more focused on mystery, tension and overall atmosphere, with only your home automation app as a way to defend yourself against aliens phenomenons. It's unusual and very pleasant. I recommand :)1 found this helpful
The pacing is so slow you’ll start to wonder if the real alien abduction is your time being stolen minute by minute, just like the accounts of actual abductions. The gameplay in short is just you fumbling with shutters and light switches like a panicked electrician.1 found this helpful
Game Fu**ing Sucks you can't move and turn at the same times and the controls are w a s d and arrow keys and you can't edit them.1 found this helpful
The game looked promising but the WSAD controls don't work on PC. You can't walk in a straight line, only on diagonals. Refunded.
