Ameagari no Hanaby is a single-player 2D-action game with fireworks as a theme.
Hanaby is a squirrel-girl living in Retro Rainforest. Squirrels in this forest must become ‘adult’ to leave the forest. Hanaby will challenge the ordeal of forest to become an ‘adult’.
FEATURES
- Unique worlds: as if she travels, Hanaby goes round a wide variety of worlds.
- Fantastic musics: Mr. AAAA's new composed dedicated BGM is prepared in each world.
- Mild story: you don't have to brace for melancholy and can enjoy the game purely.
- Operability: it's a simple jump-action game. It will take less than a minute to remember all basic operations.
- Fireworks: not only to hit enemies but to be used by gliding... New exhilaration feeling is here.
- Input: it supports both keyboard and gamepad. Key mapping function for gamepad is embedded in the game.
- Load/Save: There are three independent save files. The progress of the game and possessed items are automatically saved.
- Game mode: there are the story mode and the speedrun mode. The speedrun mode will be released after you finished story mode.

While searching for good squirrel games, I found Hanaby trilogy. I've discovered it too late, as so many years has passed after Ameagari no Hanaby's release, but I hope that it's not too late to write a review. Good nuts: - Hanaby is one of the most adorable and sweet squirrels I've ever seen, and it's a really good thing she has a personality NOT revolving around nuts or acorns (it's fireworks instead). - Fireworks as a weapon is both an original and beautiful way to eradicate enemies. - Jumping and hovering around is entertaining and not too hard even on later levels. - Levels look very pretty, detailed and full of colors, while always presenting something unexpected, such as space factory, public bath and theme park. - Music by AAAA is a masterpiece, a whole bunch of bangers that sound lively and fit the surroundings perfectly. - Lots of cute furry NPCs to talk with - A few sudden and cute adult jokes, including a whole adult level Not very good nuts: - Prices in shops are too high, probably to justify NG+, but still - NG+ just ups the damage you receive and do nothing else interesting, the only thing you get is a few Steam achievements - There's literally only o…1 found this helpful

It's a fun game, that looks incredibly cute and colourful, Love the animations they look so smooth.
I really enjoyed this game to my fullest! It is a well polished platformer with cute critter characters that are very beautifully drawn, The composition made by ああああ just sounds completely fantastic and charming, Really loved the story and polish as well~
