Dumb and childish. A "Spot the difference" and "timed picture puzzle game."3 found this helpful
This just isn't that good. The basic idea is that you have to walk through an area over and over (at least 12 times). If you see anything different (an anomaly), turn around leave. Otherwise, continue on to the exit door. So you're probably thinking that anomalies will be noticeable paranormal events, right? Sometimes, but other times it's absurdly subtle stuff like some cigarettes on the floor going missing. This goes beyond being observant. You have to have memorized the area in perfect detail. It took me so many game overs until I just beat the prologue. The worst part is that anomalies don't show up again once you've seen them. This means the game gets harder each time you try, because you'll have seen the easy anomalies and only the more difficult ones will show up on your next try. The other problem is that the game starts glitching out when there aren't many anomalies left. When I had just two left, it would freeze every time I progressed through the area, meaning I had to keep exiting and reloading to just complete it. The only positive thing I can say is that sometimes it's kind of funny. For example, one time I was staring really intently at some canned fo…1 found this helpful
Anomalies Detective is a nice anomaly hunting game. At least the first two chapters. The third one is more like a puzzle game, and frankly, i didn't managed to understand two of the puzzles (so i solved one by luck and had to google the solution of the other one). Anyway, the anomaly hunting part is fun. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/7_mZ_cy6BXE1 found this helpful
good graphic game
PROs:
✅ Anomaly list is useful for tips (although it functions as spoilers) ✅ Memory training game ✅ Comical „true endings“
CONs:
❌ Would be nice to have anomaly unlock notifications so you don’t have to navigate menus every time ❌ Lives system sucks… Give an option to loop back to the start on fail and skip the intro level ❌ Have to re-read and re-do the first stage of every level — very time consuming ❌ Bad looping OST options ❌ Low effort game overall ❌ Easy mode? — still don’t know what it actually does ❌ Not really a horror game, more like a „hidden object game“ with comical anomalies ❌ Clipping assets everywhere ❌ Messy translation (really hard to understand what’s going on in the story) ❌ Stage 3 and DLC completely change the genre to puzzle solvers ❌ Bad optimization
Comments:
I get the feeling this is more of a passion/self-expression project, especially with Stage 3 and the DLC. But it does its genre pretty badly. The „story“ felt like it might as well not exist — just random creepypasta-generated nonsense with bad translation. Stage 3 and the DLC had a bit more direction and could understand somewhat. Not like stage 1 and 2. The assets and …
Nothing special, but still fun. I won't say more than: "why the f*** does the cat meow like a whole human sometimes? That was not nice.
