Antivine is an adorably cute and charming tale of Senshu who was born without branches on his head and has to wear false ones all his life to fit in with his community. Senshu is bullied, mocked and rejected by others in his village as they regard him as a freak. It is only his devoted parents who accept his uniqueness, especially his mother who constantly showers him with her love.
At his 16th birthday, his mother dies and he is left alone.
Senshu struggles with his difference as his desire is to become a Treeman like everyone else and bear fruit for his community. Only the Mountain God has the answers to all his questions, so off goes Senshu on his quest. On his way, he meets a little girl Mumei (like Mummy!) who has lost her memory and carries her in his backpack to take her home. Game play is to click on the path where you want Senshu to go and you switch between him and Mumei to get to the exit. The puzzles are fairly easy...I only needed the walkthrough once towards the end where the difficulty ramped up. I found the music to be lovely, switching from tolling bells, flutes, piano and orchestral sounds. Graphics are mixed with monochromatic hand drawn …

While I'm interested in this game, I'm going to request a refund and wait until there's further English language updates. The English dialogue in-game has a lot of incorrect grammar and misspellings that distract from the story being told. Also the Steam achievements don't have English translations at all. Otherwise what little I played was enjoyable but the lack of English support broke the immersion for me and I found it impossible to ignore.

I cannot recommend this game in its present state, as the attractive animation is spoiled by poor English and typing errors. Also, the use of informal US English does not fit in with the more formal oriental scenario. I find this particularly annoying, as when the game first appeared on Steam, I emailed the publisher, who promised to pass on my offer of free help with the errors, but the dev did not reply to the publisher.

Antivine is an emotive puzzle platformer in which a unique boy and a girl who has lost her memory traverse the stunning but treacherous Chengying Plain in search of answers. Overall, Antivine is a wonderful example of a narrative-focused puzzle platformer that will take around 2-4 hours to complete. Its beautiful aesthetic and stunning sound design really elevate the satisfying gameplay and emotive narrative to create a truly special experience. Players will need to look past a few spelling mistakes but apart from that it is a thoroughly enjoyable experience that I highly recommend to fans of the genre. This game was fun, but the poor translations made it really hard to understand and get into. I never finished it. If you don't mind poor translations, you might be able to enjoy this game. The puzzles were good and the art is cute. But for me, I just couldn't get into it.

The puzzles are enjoyable, but the English translation is really bad, so the story is hard to follow. I'd suggest playing the puzzles and skipping the dialogue.
