"Apathy In Our Stars" is a godawfully bad mobile app that's been dumped on Steam for god knows what reason. In this mobile app, the player takes on the role of a character who has been in cryogenic sleep for a very long time and awakens to a galaxy that has changed. The goal is to buy freedom, upgrade a spaceship, and save the galaxy. Certainly the title is apt, playing this made me feel a mountain of apathy. In a lot of ways this is trying to be a thematic ripoff of Star Control 2, but with almost all the gameplay removed, terrible dialogue, awful plot, and MS-Paint "art". I guess the mobile app gamers loved it, I don't know. The whole thing looks like a Flash game reject. In terms of visuals, this features really godawful MS-Paint tier "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. The deplorably bad visuals here come across as an insult to gamers.
