Pirates of the Asteroid Belt Positives: + The idea is okay + Its in space (always a plus) + Some of the graphics and voiceacting is ok + Save game (thank God for that!) + Its free Negatives: - A lot of gamebreaking bugs (that makes it almost impossible to finish) - The game crashes all the time - A pre-alpha, unfinished, buggy and glitchy mess: - Items not working, things dissappear, you suddenly fall into space, guns dont work, ammo not working, you go thru objects, doors dont open, upgrades not working, you get killed in half a second, enemies that shoot you thru objects etc - Horrible gunplay and aiming - Combat is really bad - Very inconsistent difficulty - Most of the dialogue is not interesting - Way too much talking - Forced pauses - The game is not giving you any guidiance on where to go next - Weird and unnatural shadows and lightning effects - Bad animations - Sound mixing is weird - Puzzles are mostly bad - No fun in general and really frustrating to play because of the above When you get an early ingame advice to save often because of instability, you know somethings not right. The game plays like it was originally VR and then ported to regular PC monitors. Because that's exactly what happened. Poorly.

Что особенно радует, так это свобода действий. Хочешь — торгуй, хочешь — грабь торговые суда, а можешь и вовсе основать свою пиратскую базу. Разнообразие кораблей и улучшений позволяет создать уникальный стиль игры. Графика, хоть и не самая передовая, отлично передает дух далекого космоса. Звуковое сопровождение также на высоте, каждый выстрел и взрыв добавляет реализма. Это игра, которая не надоедает и предлагает постоянно что-то новое.

"Pirates of the Asteroid Belt" is a failed attempt to make a serious game, a first person VR focused sci-fi puzzle adventure game where you're in charge of a space cargo ship and you have to deal with puzzles and pirates in the solar system. The presentation of the game looks okay but that's about all that's going for it... it's asembled badly, it's a janky and bug riddled technical implementation coupled with poor game design and worse assembly. What do you do in the game? More likely than not you'll get softlocked due to bugs breaking the solutions to puzzles. Alt + F4 is your friend for this game. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips.
