About Ary and the Secret of Seasons

Journey across the magnificent world of Valdi!
Ary and the Secret of Seasons is an award-winning adventure game following a young girl named Aryelle, or Ary, as she journeys across the great world of Valdi. By becoming the Guardian of Winter, Ary gains the ability to manipulate the seasons around her. Ary will learn to control the seasons and use them to defeat enemies, overcome obstacles, and solve complex puzzles on her adventure across Valdi.
Long ago, the world of Valdi was threatened by an evil mage. After a great struggle, he was defeated by the Legendary Warrior and sealed inside the Vault, imprisoned for all eternity. To ensure the mage's imprisonment, four great sages swore to keep watch and protect the Vault. They formed the original Guardians of Seasons, a secretive organization now steeped in history and legend.
After a mysterious force throws the seasons of Valdi into disarray, Ary decides to assist the Guardians of Seasons and sets out to find the source of the mayhem. Using her wits and courage, Ary will have to overcome monstrous enemies, secret plots, and stuffy traditions to save Valdi and bring balance to the world once more.

- Rewarding exploration. Harnessing the power of the seasons, Ary can traverse sweeping landscapes in search of new destinations, solving amazing environmental puzzles to progress.
- Captivating storytelling. Ary is recruited to help the Guardians of Seasons, an old organization caught up by rigid traditions. As she ventures through uncharted locations across Valdi, Ary will discover secrets and hidden meanings behind the Guardian of Seasons.
- Dynamic environments. Manipulate the world around Ary with her environmental powers. Leap between ecosystems to bend the world and seasons to her needs.
- Fluid combat. Ary’s skills will be put to the test as she encounters foes looking to thwart her progress – from local inhabitants to hulking behemoths, she will use all the tools at her disposal to overcome monumental obstacles.
- Alluring 3D world. A beautiful visual style combined with an enchanting soundtrack creates a lingering atmosphere that will surely become a memorable gameplay experience.

This game has flashes of interesting stuff but they're buried so far beneath the buggy, messy and unfinished feeling rest of the game that it just makes me sad. I see the vision here, it could have been a great exploration game, were it not for the wonky platforming controls, buggy combat that makes you take damage from nothing (and dares to have an achievement for finishing the game without dying on top of that), aimless level design and swaths of terrain with just nothing on it. This game needed like a year more in development, to iron out the combat bugs, to make platforming more responsive, to make the story flow more consistent and obvious at the very least. It's hard to recommend a game such as this when there are much better alternatives all over Steam.6 found this helpful
https://youtu.be/SX9OeyvFmMc Pushing technical gaps aside, there is a mismatch between the target age of the narrative and that of the mechanics. Younger players may be overwhelmed while older are likely to be bored.
Not sure what it is about this game, but back when it came out on Stadia my kids and I played through it multiple times. Just saw that they've patched it again lately and it looks like some great improvements. So we just started another playthrough. The story is fun, the combat is okay, and the puzzles with seasons are original and great.
This game looks and feels like a group of alien devs who never visited Earth tried to re-create humanity by googling them and ended up on the second page. The proportions are all off, and some things look giant, which I find super confusing, but I would ignore it if not for the fact that I had to lower the visual settings by a lot because the sound was lagging behind the cinematics if I played on anything higher than the lowest. Then I noticed that from tinkering with the graphics, half of the models in the city began flickering or disappearing completely, which made me unable to figure out what I should do now. I have no idea what the problem is with this game on my computer because some other people seem to play it just fine, but after several quests I just don't feel like trying to make it work anymore.
This game is quite entertaining and a nice break or cooldown from the more heavy anxiety filled games.
Was a buggy borderline broken game 5 years ago and even with this big huge patch it's still a buggy borderline unplayable game. I put some more time in hoping it wouldn't be so buggy. In like 2 hours i fell through the world, fps drops like crazy, texture pop ins, 2 quests broke and i had to reload the game. It has some interesting stuff but it's far too broken.
