A 2023 Genesis / Megadrive game... a roguelite, with gorgeous pixelart, randomized dungeon layouts, 3 classes to choose from, bossfights and a sweet progression system. Likely one of the best entries for SEGA's 16 bit machine that you will find. Do I recommend it... hell yeah! It has polish, it has style and is alot of fun to play. The game comes with the rom file, so you can simply play it on any emu or device you fancy. Hidden Gem for sure. Hope to see more from Neofid.

When I bought this game during sales, I played for a little while and then dismissed it because I didn't really get it and seemed too difficult. Then I started it again, it finally clicked and I really enjoyed it! It's a roguelite platformer starring three characters that control in the same way but have different abilities and kinds of weapons. Seems quite hard at first, but once you master the dodge, double jump, understand how things work, and that you can unlock more enhancements the more bosses you beat, it becomes much more manageable. The only slightly annoying thing is to repeat levels over and over again to gain materials in order to craft new weapons, but it's not necessary to craft all the weapons you come across, unless you want to get 100% completion, and some weapons are much better than others anyway. It also takes me back to a time when you had to experiment, since nothing is explained besides a few comments from the NPC: there's no manual or guides and you'll have to learn what the various treasures, curses and weapon abilities do (I still don't know what the various spells of the Oracle do). My suggestion is to save money to buy permanent energy upgrades at …

i really like Astebros honestly, the art is top tier, everything is vibrant, the gameplay is freaking good and even surpass most of the metroid vanias i've played recently maniabiliity/maneuvering/fun wise, everything is fluid and nothing is clanky when you move or fight or wtv really i want to insist on the maneuvrability part, i freaking hate when a game just gives you the most horrible controls you've seen, i've had a lot of games like that in my life and i hate it so much that even a hint of bad hitreg or a faulty move on the game's part is maddening to me to no freaking point here? only pure joy on my hands, hell even as a dyspraxic i had no problems with getting around, it's one of those games that makes you better and better the more you experiment and play, that makes you have conscious decisions on how to move around and makes you more and more apt at playing by experimenting than making you die and retry for the sake of it (it's not freaking rogue legacy, thank the hecking lord), and when it was time to have some amelioration speed wise (i'll spoil nothing) they manage to make getting around even more enjoyable. seriously the gameplay made me lock in i loved getting t…

A modern feeling rogue-like for my favourite childhood console. The game is a grand old time. I didn't get to try the coop feature but the game holds on its own in singleplayer. Also, the Steam purchase comes with a ROM that you can load onto a flashcart.

Game is determined more by which weapon appears at the start of the level rather than your skill. Spending time to purchase a weapon that might be able to use seems dumb. also last level is glitchy af. died alot because of that.

Forced CRT-Screen. No options to get a clean 4:3 Screen without the stupid effect. All Screenshots here are NOT from the actual Steam-Version of the game. They are from another emulator.
