Among SO many issues, the top reasons this game failed are: 1. Story and voce acting is so bad that its not even comical, it will make you angry. 2. The fights are designed so that the enemies always go first, nearly. This basically translates to huge time sucks from battle. you cant act until a minute into the fight.....every time. 3. No quest tracking. The quest lines seem to never end and you have no idea where to go. There is a very vague description and then you find yourself aimlessly searching and entire dungeon for one thing, that may or may not even be there (because quests done in the wrong order cannot be completed - but there is no indication of that order) This may be one of the worst game designs I've ever encountered. Referencing the achievements, you can see that only about 1/10 players even made it to their second job class. This means not even a quarter through the game people quit. And if you waste your money on this game you'll quickly learn why.8 found this helpful
Great game! Some of the quests can be annoying but overall really solid.1 found this helpful
Astria Ascending is a fantasy role-playing game developed by Artisan Studios and published by Dear Villagers that embraces many of the traditions associated with classic Japanese RPGs while attempting to modernize the formula through contemporary visuals and deeper character customization. Built around a large-scale narrative, turn-based combat, and a richly detailed fantasy world, the game presents itself as a love letter to the genre's golden age. Although its ambitious scope occasionally exceeds its execution, it remains a memorable adventure that offers a substantial amount of content for players who enjoy traditional role-playing experiences. The story takes place in the world of Orcanon, a land inhabited by multiple races living under an uneasy balance of peace and political tension. At the center of the narrative are eight demigods known as the Harmonicers, powerful guardians entrusted with protecting the realm. Despite their immense abilities, these heroes carry a tragic burden: their lives are limited, and they are approaching the end of their predetermined existence. This looming fate adds a layer of melancholy to the adventure and separates the game's narrative from man…1 found this helpful
Just bad QoL make it so painfull for me to finish the game so i can uninstall it. other than decent. Not worth buying at full price.
This is a distractingly poorly made game. It's really tough to see past the Puppet2d style animation- it's like watching a cheap flash animation at points. Chances are you can get it for four dollars, and it's... worth that I think? It's kinda fun. Fun adjacent. The first level I played left me feeling like it was going to be too saccharine to be enjoyable for an adult gamer.
