Astro Looter: Survivor

Even at $3 this game feels like a ripoff. No auto aim or shoot, so right off the bat it is missing some of the core survivor-like features. Then the unlockables are so shallow that it felt like one day of playing would be enough to exhaust everything. Frankly its not even about the money, but the wasted time and complete lack of interest in this case.

Yet another unfinished game that could have been amazing. Great concept but clunky feeling and as far as I can tell no option to rebind keys or auto aim or auto fire. Might be less annoying with a controller.

I Liked the look and sci-fi vibes of the game at first but soon notice funny issues with the UI where it wasn't even possible to select certain options. I also ran into some issue where I couldn't place the turrets and would get stuck in slow motion running in the wrong direction. Super frustrating and janky. Additionally being unable to reset key bindings is also a major bummer. Not worth the time or money in it's current state of development.

We are in 2026 and it is still not possible to take other keyboard mappings than QWERTY into account. This game does not even let you rebind the keys two years after it got out. I cannot recommend it, just for that.

Achievements are bugged and, it seems that the dev has abandoned the game. Which is shameful behaviour.

The game isn't necessarily bad, but the lack of unlockable skills makes the gameplay loop too repetitive (especially since the levels/maps have the same objective). The different characters feel like a negligible change, so the only proper meta-progression in this game are a couple different guns and turrets. What makes doing more runs in a roguelike worthwhile is variety which this game lacks, there just isn't enough content here (or enough differences in content).
