Story
A Dusk era has fallen upon this world many times, yet people have managed to survive and reclaim a meager livelihood thus far.
Here, in a remote atelier, there was a lone girl making her living by making medicine.
Her name is Ayesha.
several years after her grandfather passed away, her sister went missing and she now lives a solitary life with only her pet cow to call family.

Her sorrowful memories were beginning to fade, little by little, but...
One day, while searching for herbs as usual in the ruins near her atelier, Ayesha saw the figure of her long lost younger sister.
Knowing that her sister was still alive somewhere in the world, Ayesha decided to go on a journey to search for her.

A14, Atelier Ayesha. Highlight for me is finding out, more than 15 hours into normal mode playthrough, that one of the last Steam achievements is "Rescue Nio (hard mode)". Leaving that to future me (probably). Synthesis of this game is a bit more difficult than Atelier Rorona or Atelier Ryza in the fact that you can't freely choose to put transferrable property in. It was only at Synthesis level 45 that you get the ability to remove unwanted properties. Only then should customization & ultimate gear be crafted.

Not a bad jrpg! Has a time limit but there is enough time for everything

Not necessarily for everyone, but I liked it.

Thoroughly enjoyable game. This is my second Atelier game. I first played Sophie (first time years ago), but it didn't click, but I thought I'd give it a second shot and this was great. I had a great time with it. There's some obtuse elements, but I did work them out. Gathering and crafting is both enjoyable. This one has an actual serious story driving the plot forward you're not just mucking about for the sake of it. My one complaint about this is the game has two bosses. The final boss ironically is less of a big deal, but the first boss is both an extreme difficulty spike & basically RNG: the bossfight. It took me a lot of attempts - as well as having to go out and specifically grind out like 10 extra levels to - to be able to manage it. And that sucked. Otherwise great game.

Many people say that Atelier Ayesha DX is one of the hardest Atelier games for newcomers because of its strict in-game time limit, and that proved to be true. When I finished the game for the first time, I immediately got the bad ending because I didn't fully understand how to manage my time efficiently. As I continued playing, however, I gradually learned the game's mechanics, especially time management, which is one of the most important aspects of the experience. I really enjoyed the story and the characters, especially Ayesha herself, who became a very likable protagonist. The most difficult part for me was the alchemy synthesis system. Combining different materials and properties to achieve the desired stats and effects can be quite complex, making it one of the biggest challenges when aiming for 100% achievements. Despite the steep learning curve, this game ended up introducing me to a JRPG series that I genuinely want to replay over and over again. Atelier Ayesha DX left a strong impression on me, and I hope the other Atelier games are just as good—or even better.
