A great follow-up to Atelier Ayesha! The synthesis system is even more involved and the two alchemists being there means that a barrage of items and things you can use in combat follows! Especially considering the double draw mechanic! Big numbers! Cast is nice, music is nice! Surprisingly interesting optional boss fights and dungeons. Would recommend!

This was my introduction to series based on many recommendations. I was certainly not disappointed. As someone who absolutely does not love crafting in games, I was hesitant to get into it but it is very nicely done that I didn't mind it. The system has just enough depth and complexity without being too overwhelming. The combat is fairly simple and some side bosses absolutely required good knowledge of alchemy/crafting systems in order to beat as most of the game's scaling comes from crafted items. The story and overall setting is very nice and very grounded in reality (within the scope of game's world) that makes for no complaints. Overall, very solid and enjoyable title

Stunning visuals, amazing story, great gameplay. The different systems, from alchemy to combat to character interactions, fit perfectly together and make the game hard to put down because it simply feels so effortless. The world is wide but full of personality, and the soundtrack wraps every moment in a cozy sense of wonder. What really stands out is how sincere the game feels. It never tries too hard, yet almost every aspect shines because of the care poured into it. This game is truly wonderful and addicting. I love it.

( full review with screenshots: https://gaming-parrot.com/post/atelier-escha-logy-review-expertly-crafted/ ) Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky is one of the most common answers if you ask fans what their favorite Atelier game is. It's not hard to see why. It sits between the more complicated older games and more approachable newer games and delivers an experience that has the best of both worlds. It provides a ton of depth from simple systems that don't waste your time. Like all games in the series, Atelier Escha & Logy is primarily driven by its crafting system. The version here will look absurdly simple compared to some other games if you're just glancing from a screenshot. Every recipe consists of no more than 4 items, and your input is limited to choosing those items from specific categories, choosing the order to add them to the pot, applying skills, and finally choosing the item's inherited properties. It'll probably seem like you're just pressing a lot of buttons to get a pre-determined effect the first time you do it, but as the game goes on and you get more ingredients and skills, you start to realize that optimizing the order of your actions to get the b…
