Audio Trip

Almost perfect for what I was looking for: a VR workout that's strictly [b]not[/b] a rhythm game, with a certain sense of flow to the movements rather than constant abrupt motions. There's some punching and smashing, but most of the time you will be transitioning smoothly between poses and positions, wielding your cyber pom-poms. [i]Synth Riders[/i] is great too, but [i]Audio Trip[/i]'s obstacle-dodging involves the entire upper body AND both hands and literally pushes me and my body further out of my comfort zone. The focus is more on "dancing" than rhythmic precision, and the visuals and music are perfectly synchronized. In general the mood and music seems more clubby, I don't know, better produced and choreographed? Bit of pet peeve of mine when I don't "feel" the connection between music and visuals. Very well done here. Intensely challenging, even on the beginner levels. Don't expect much of a warm-up period. Not much audio feedback when you hit something right, though.

I almost gave this a negative rating because the game didn't make it clear that your hands set off the barriers and it made me think the hitboxes were just really bad. Luckily I figured it out. The dancing is really quite fun and the song selection is decent. Freestyle mode is the best way to play this because the campaign difficulty is kind of all over the place. It was certainly a choice to force 100% completion of the each section of the campaign before you can progress, Small hands modifier is awful on Quest. There's also no quit button. Still enjoyable though.

New to vr rythm games and although I used to go out and party, 30mins with this game makes you really sweat, and funny to find orginal music that I only heard in other genre remixes. Even beginner is challenging, but if you determined it is one of the best options for cardio. I highly recommend it.
