✦ AI summary

Bambas is a charming and unique walking simulator where you control a pair of shoes independently to explore a world of footwear, complete objectives, and collect items, with players praising its creative concept, engaging exploration, excellent soundtrack, and addictive gameplay mechanics. However, the game features notably challenging and sometimes frustrating objectives that demand significant practice and coordination, with some players finding the dual-shoe control scheme initially awkward, though most appreciate the learning curve as part of the experience.

You control 2 shoes independently as you explore and roam about an urban environment. You have all sorts of collectibles to find, small missions and quests to keep you looking for stuff and NPCs to get new kicks from. You can customize the shoes' colors which was pretty cool! I was afraid that it was going to be frustrating, but playing with a controller you get the hang of walking pretty quickly and from there it's fun to try out the challenges and different objectives to complete. Big fan of Devilish Games since Kolumno and I think this is easily their most fun game to just explore and mess around in.

This game brought a huge smile to my sneaker-loving face! Bambas is an adorable little romp where you play as a pair of shoes in a world where everyone is a pair of shoes (or they're invisible except for the shoes?) filled with tons of fun activities to do in the world. From tasks like kicking cans to kicking footballs into a goal or bouncing in an inflatable castle Bambas has lots of objectives that requires your shoes. Combined with how you control the shoes in the game I found myself so incredibly addicted to everything the game has to offer and that includes the mere act of walking! Exploration is a blast! It can get VERY challenging at times in regard to it's own quests. Finding the stickers and kicking the paper through that chalk maze and sorting balloons by colour were quite possibly the most difficult parts of the game for me. Bambas in all of its simplicity and cuteness can provide quite demanding goals for you to accomplish. Mix that with the previous mentioned casual fun where you walk around the town you'll just find yourself wanting to explore the world more and finding all sorts of new secrets and people. Something as simple as walking in Bambas awoke a feeling of …

The truth is that it is a totally different game to what we usually find in the market. Bambas! engages by discovering all the interactions that we can do while walking, in general, everything you would like to try, you try to do and it turns out to be a mission in the game. I found it to be a fresh and interesting proposal even though it has its small flaws. If you want to play something completely different, this is your game. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

Although Bambas! has wonky controls, they get better as you play and start understanding how to walk properly. I enjoyed it! Thought it was fun! 9/10

I'd say if this game looks interesting to you I'd still recommend trying it on a big sale, since what I value in a recommendation might not weigh as heavily for you. Positive: - Charming visuals - Charming music - Interesting idea - Mostly intuitive puzzles/missions - Interesting albeit unpolished controls. Negatives: - One of the first things I managed to do was float up into the sky cus I stood on a bottle. - Was apparently really easy to recreate as I did it on a sandwich or something later (It's really easy to do), but this time the game decided to save my progress mid-air so now I got soft locked falling to my "death" every time, losing all progress if I don't restart the whole game. Restarting the game or using the "reposition" fall-back button in the menu doesn't help. - Unpolished interactions, so many things you have to kick but there's no dedicated way of doing it and have to rely on physics interpreting what you're trying to do correctly, which often ends up in you just getting your shoe stuck on something instead or stepping on it when you didn't mean to. (and I like games with weird "clunky" controls if done well) - Moving in place is kind of clunky, especially w…
