About Betrayer: Curse of the Spine
Betrayer: Curse of the Spine is a side-scrolling Action Adventure game that places an emphasis on player decisions. Featuring intricate story telling, a vast world to explore, valuable crafting, and multiple endings to experience. This highly atmospheric game is filled with drama, mystery, and dread.
Part of overcoming the challenges in this world is learning to use all the tools you have at your disposal. One of the most valuable pieces of your toolkit is your ability to craft. Make potions to restore your health or to increase your strength. Make weapons to brutalize your enemies and armor to protect your tender bits.

Not only will your wits be put to the test but your reflexes will as well. It's not all just stabby-stab. Run and jump your way to victory - and likely die trying, many times, before you succeed.

A land shrouded in darkness and mystery. Unlock the secrets of an ancient world and learn who you really are. Have we been here before? Multiple endings create high replayability.

The game has potential, but in the games current state, I can not recommend this game to anyone. There is no atmosphere, there isn't any music just quite ambiance which does nothing, it just feels empty. I'm not saying it's a bad game. It's a great concept, however without music or atmosphere the game is simply dull after an hour.7 found this helpful
What a great surprise, most highly recommended ! As of now, absolutely lovely game, one of the best I've played ever of its type, so rich and varied. 90% of what you see is destructible, boxes (specially the ones by you at the start), armor, furniture, grass, etc. and they hide from gold to items, easy immediate abundant crafting -and usually I don't like crafting, but I do here, so well done !-. A huge map, story and objectives in scrolls in the map tab. Key remapping in inventory, gamepad icon. Suggestion to the devs: the music is lovely, but add a volume slider. Annnd ... back to the game I go. ------- As a 68 y.o., for users of Cheat Engine like me, of this delightful game : Everything is Value Type DOUBLE, rounded, Exact. Health, initial 10 hearts, Value 10.0000 (address changes in each new screen but useful against bosses), lose some hearts fighting, search again till found. Gold max 99,999, arrows 499, and inventory Items max 99, addresses change only if quitting game.3 found this helpful
Criminally underrated gem. One of the coolest metroidvanias I ever played! The world is designed so well, that the game allows you to unlock your world traversal abilities as you see fit - those are all among your skills, which also include combat upgrades and few other interesting things. The other large part of the game is crafting - a system that fits it incredibly well, nothing complex: you click one of the recipes, and if you have enough specific ingredients in your inventory (usually it takes 3 ingredients per one item), you craft it. You select those items on a wheel and then activate with a button, and vast majority are traversal helpers - boxes you can stack, trampolines, even magic movable platforms. The last piece are your spells, mainly combative but their elements interact with environment (eg. fire can set things alight, and will spread over grass, while ice aura will extinguish them). You have a sword and a bow, and while you can upgrade the attacks via skill tree, you also can find different swords and bows. I found 3 swords and 2 bows so far. If there's anything that I could overall critique, if I'd really try - its just how open the world is. Game doesn't h…2 found this helpful
