Boxing Champs is an indie boxing title that deliberately steps away from simulation realism in favor of fast, accessible, arcade-style action. Developed and published by Raz Games, the experience is built around immediacy and momentum, offering short, energetic bouts that emphasize timing and aggression rather than deep technical nuance. From the outset, the game communicates its intentions clearly through its colorful visuals, simplified presentation, and brisk pacing, making it approachable for players who want the excitement of boxing without the complexity or commitment demanded by more realistic sports titles. The moment-to-moment gameplay revolves around fluid movement and directional punching, with controls designed to feel intuitive whether you use traditional buttons or analog stick motions to throw jabs, hooks, and uppercuts. Fights unfold from a top-down perspective, which gives the game a unique identity within the genre while also making spacing and positioning just as important as raw offense. Landing clean combinations feels satisfying, particularly when you successfully read an opponent’s movement and punish them with a well-timed flurry. While the overall move set…1 found this helpful
I can only recommend this if you're playing LOCAL MULTIPLAYER or everyone has internet good enough for Steam Remote Play. I don't, at about 10M up / 100M down. Multiplayer is dumb fun at about what can be expected for this price, and the controls are tighter if you ignore the game's nudge to use twin-stick. However, this game desyncs and eventually crashes running online multiplayer a good 90 percent of the time. I'd flip this from a "No" to "Yes" if the dev ever fixes this problem. Soundtrack is square- and triangle-wave near-covers of 80s music done just well enough to not spoil it. The graphics are simple enough the store page basically shows them all. Create-a-boxer option is nice if you're trying to manually rebalance the game.
The amount of fights you lose from cpu flash knockouts is HIGH. My very first fight against a "Glass Joe" style opponent was won by the cpu getting a flash knockout 20 seconds in. I tried to accept that this can happen. It continued to happen. I retired that fighter with a 8-5 record. All five defeats by a, full health draining, knockout. C'mon guys.
Its just very relaxing way to pass a few hours of fun ducking it out with various styles of boxers, try it out and see for yourself.
looooooooool fun game
This is a simple cartoony 2D arcade/versus fighting game with a boxing theme. Instead of being side on, this game is viewed top down. You can customise your fighters appearance before going into the ring and using a combination of jabs, hooks and blocks to take down your opponent. The cartoony graphics really don't work here and for some reason they thought it would be great if you could see the face of your boxer as he fights so he's always looking directly upwards... it's surreal. Anyway, being a console port, the game assaults you with prompts to go use a console peasant childrens toy gamepad instead of proper KB+M prompts as all PC games should have, it's a badly done lazy console port that's not worth $6.
