Game is just what it says on the tin - mix of Breakout and Invaders containing some additional eye candy. That also means that explosions and multiple multiballs turn the whole screen to equivalent of bullet hell. Graphics are adequate but sounds tore my ears. Points that you can continue game from same level after game over but didn't catch interest.1 found this helpful
Interesting twist on breakout. Nothing spectacular but if you're a breakout fan it adds some variation1 found this helpful
With the amount of buggy hits and the sheer ear destruction that is this game, I couldn't recommend this to anyone. It feels like a beta at best and will crash at some points for what seems to be no reason at all. I like the thought of the two games together, but this is certainly not the correct execution.1 found this helpful
Breakout Invaders is a breakout/space invaders arcade game ripoff featuring 3D graphics and a variety of weapons and upgrades as you destroy a series of 3D structures and moving blocks. The game concept is fairly clever but the implementation falls flat. While an attempt was made at decent 3D graphics, it's very low poly and fixed low resolution, far below minimum standards for PC. The controls and hitboxing are sloppy, too, so the ball will seem to connect but won't. I saw balls change direction without hitting anything, just bad programming and not enough QA for this game. It's not worth even close to $6 with all the shortcomings, and it's always sad to see that happen when the premise for the game has so much potential.
