About Buck Up And Drive!
Where are we going? As individuals... as a species... what awaits us at the end of this road? Is there an end? Was there an beginning? Does this road symbolize real life in the sense that there's no turning back? And how does pineapple juice fit into all this? Maybe I should just shut up, Buck Up And Drive!

Features:
- Endless driving game inspired by arcade classics, with simple yet intense gameplay featuring a total slap in the face of realism. And a kick in the spleen, too!
- Procedurally generated track with multiple environments to visit, ranging from the somewhat realistic to the completely absurd. GO TO HELL!... literally!
- PINK. BACKFLIPPING. TRUCKS. ON THE FUCKING MOON.
- Go 1v1 against another player (or a CPU) in a fighting mode. With cars. I dunno either, I came up with it while in the shower.
- Customizable car decals through external image files. Put "eggplants" all over the cars, for all I care!
- Controls for both game modes are 8 directions and one button. Play one-handed, if you want! Keep your other hand for... holding orange juice! Yes!
- Available for both Windows and Ubuntu (other Linux distros may work).

Players appreciate the OutRun-inspired arcade gameplay with flashy drift mechanics and varied, colorful environments, praising the satisfying challenge of unlocking achievements. However, common complaints center on repetitive gameplay that becomes boring quickly, overly simple and uninspiring driving mechanics that lack engagement, and a limited soundtrack. The game shows promise as a fun arcade experience but falls short of the depth and lasting appeal of its inspiration.
It's always nice to see a game inspired by Out Run, especially when it's as fanbloodytastic as this game is! Being able to drift and do hurricane spins is a neat addition. There's also a nice variety of different looking areas, it keeps the game looking fresh. I really enjoyed unlocking all the achievements in this game, a few of them are some of the hardest achievements I've ever personally unlocked! My only real complaint is that there's not enough music, but that can easily be solved by playing your own music in the background with the in game volume turned down. I'm very much looking forward to the sequel!! I give this game two thumbs up and a nod of approval. A delightful arcadey experience.3 found this helpful
The game is cool, but it gets boring quickly. The controls are clunky, and the option with the LGBT flags is the most useless thing I’ve ever seen. I don’t want to see them in the game, but the game doesn’t give me that choice.2 found this helpful
Pros: - custom car decals and billboards - feels like Outrun on steroids - Some clever level designs - feels like an authentic arcade experience Cons: - other levels are really dumb ideas (I wish I could disable the 'Abs of God' and 'Early Access' ones, who thought those were good ideas?) Overall great to blast some synthwave too. (and yes, eurobeat!)
Drift a lot, then do it again
Some really neat ideas, but ultimately feels like less than the sum of its engine parts. The comparisons to OutRun make sense, that seems to be one of Buck Up's main design goals, but the result is, to me, pretty far behind the pack and is a long way from being able to catch-up with OutRun. The driving is very simple, and not very engaging. I feel like I just go forwards hitting the boosts until eventually I don't anymore. Very little thrill, despite all the visuals trying to make it feel to the contrary. I feel like a big iteration on this could be more compelling, but there's not much calling me back as it stands.
