Bullet Inferno

"Bullet Inferno" is a laughably poor quality "bullet hell" game... but not a "shoot 'em up" because the developer couldn't work out how to make bullets/shooting mechanics in Unity. Like, imagine someone decided in 2025 that what gamers really wanted was a crap Galaga ripoff where you couldn't shoot. Thus "Bullet Inferno" was born. And immediately died because nobody wanted a crap Galaga ripoff where you can't even shoot. What do you do in the game? Just dodge stuff and try not to laugh at how bad the graphics are. The "game" here, such as it is, is of a pretty low technical standard. The implementation is basic, minmimum effort stuff, more like a 'weekend project' rather than a commercial/professional product... it's bad even compared to most amateur made games. An experimental piece... and the experiment is "can I spend $100 on Steam Direct and then call myself a game dev?" While that $100 spend on Steam Direct probably made the developers feel good about themselves, we have to ask why this kind of thing is good for gamers. The graphics here are particularly awful, straddling "minimalist" and "pixelcrap", so bad that it actually stands out as one of the worst looking gam…

Bullet Inferno is a really simple idea, but I found it surprisingly enjoyable once the screen started filling with enemies. The whole game is built around descending into the depths of Dante's Inferno while avoiding demons and sinners, and there is something satisfying about how quickly it gets me into the action. I am not here to build a complicated character or manage a huge inventory. I am simply trying to survive and keep moving. The gameplay is almost entirely about movement and dodging. I use the keyboard to guide my character through the increasingly dangerous areas while enemy attacks come from different directions. I liked how important positioning becomes because there is very little room for careless movement. The controls are simple, but surviving depends on staying calm and finding safe paths through the chaos. The Dante inspired setting gives the game a little more personality than a typical bullet hell. Each section represents another part of the Inferno, with demons and sinners constantly getting in my way. I enjoyed seeing the game turn such a famous setting into a fast arcade challenge.
