A police officer receives an emergency call from a remote mountain town, and soon he will realize the dark secret that is hidden behind this town. As someone currently developing their own indie game, I have a deep appreciation for how tough it is to build something from the ground up, especially when it comes to performance and optimization. So when I saw this title pop up, I was genuinely excited to check it out. The premise immediately caught my interest, and the game initially presents itself really well. Unfortunately, I had to shut it down after a few minutes. My 3090 spiked to 83°C and kept climbing, which was a red flag. I also experienced noticeable input lag and significant frame drops that made the game hard to enjoy. At its current state, I did expect a more polished experience given the price, though the early purchase discount made it a bit easier to justify the buy. The voice acting feels out of place and could use more work, and some of the early level design (like the open back door) breaks immersion. That said, the atmosphere is on point with the heavy storm, limited visibility, and flashes of lightning really sell the feeling of being alone in the woods with something about to go terribly wrong.
