Call of Fries

Call of Fries is an Adobe Flash/Mobile app tier physics puzzle game featuring decent art and terrible gameplay from Russian developer, Anatoliy Loginovskikh. Sitting somewhere between a dumbed down version of Angry Birds and a dumbed down version of Freddy Spaghetti (two already dumbed down games), this has you controlling a french fry that you can "push" using your left and right mouse button. The objective is to jump over or bash through a bunch of 2D mobile app physics problems to get to the waiting mouth so you can be eaten. Okay. This isn't an asset flip or anything, does seem sincerely made, but it's weird this was published on PC instead of the mobile app stores where it probably would have done better. I guess there's a side note about the gameplay itself, the potato propelling system is lame and frustrating as the french fry barely moves with each tap, so this is pretty annoying to play, and would be even on mobile phones. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. Not Recommended ★☆☆☆☆ Hours Played: 0.1 Call of Fries might be the worst thing ever coded by human hands. The “controls” feel like a cruel joke: left mouse button goes left… right mouse button also goes left… so guess what? You’re permanently falling off the edge and your own sanity. The gameplay is beyond frustrating. Imagine trying to play a shooter where every button is a self-destruct. Now imagine that, but with french fries. That’s this game. I’ve played broken shovelware, I’ve played bug-filled messes, but Call of Fries made me question why I even own a computer. It’s not just bad—it’s grease-soaked misery in digital form. Zero flavor, zero fun. Burnt, soggy, unplayable. 🍟🚫

Call of Fries draws you in with its silly charm and bright visuals but don’t be fooled. It is incredibly hard to complete and annoying in parts. The controls are unforgiving and the mechanics take time to understand. I didn’t make it to the end (nor do I plan to). I would have voted it negatively however, despite its difficulty, it still offers a weirdly enjoyable experience. It is a fun game to mess around in for a couple of minutes. If you're into hard precision platformers it’s worth a try. Just expect some fries with a side of frustration.

Controls are broken. You click right and go to the left. You click left and go to the left. Good idea for a game, but the controls only work half the time.
