Solid, and with a great sense of style. A soft recommend, as this isn't a true tower defense: Your character is wildly overpowered if built correctly, and doubly so if you can manage the finicky hit boxes. Sadly, the game is so stingy on resources to build towers and traps, your fantasy super soldier has to do most of the heavy lifting. It's a shame, too, since a lot of the trap combos seems fun -- you're just barely able to use them. This would be a strong recommend if they gave you mutator options to radically increase resource accumulation.

Castle of Alchemists had an interesting idea, mixing tower defense with action RPG elements, but unfortunately the execution didn’t work for me. The controls are one of my biggest problems. You have to stop shooting before you can use an item, which feels awkward and makes combat more frustrating than it needs to be. The melee weapons are also mostly useless, so there isn’t much reason to use them. The game is quite difficult early on as well, and you’ll probably need to do some grinding before you can progress comfortably. The tutorial is another weak point. It doesn’t explain the mechanics very well, so I often had to figure things out myself. The UI design also feels poorly thought out. There’s even a compare button that doesn’t work, yet the developers apparently left it in the UI instead of removing it. There are quite a few systems here, and I can see the potential, but the rough controls, weak tutorial, awkward UI, useless melee weapons, and early-game difficulty made the experience more frustrating than fun for me. Definitely not one I’d recommend.

Very basic, but the most annoying thing is that the weapons are NOT fun, in the beginning at least, only finished first 2 areas.

Bad all around. The graphics are not good, there is hardly anything interesting to unlock, the tooltip information is too sparse, spelling and grammar errors are everywhere... this is just a low quality game all the way through.

I'm simply not enjoying it
