KEY FEATURES:

  • LIMITED RESOURCES
Limited player ammo and scarce ammo boxes will encourage players to think strategically and be cautious while traversing the abandoned steel hallways.
  • IMMERSIVE BODYCAM
Artistic direction that utilizes the perspective of a bodycam footage. Set in the near future, players are also equipped with an AR Interface to help you through the dark hallways of the Magnus Facility.
  • MONSTER MUTATION SYSTEM
Some monsters will randomly start to mutate when killed into a stronger form. Do not be surprised when you encounter more dangerous foes in an area you thought you cleaned out. Make sure to end them before the mutation starts.
  • CHOICES AFFECT YOUR PLAYTHROUGH
Your choices will affect your gameplay experience. Choosing to open one way will close other paths to your next goal. Depending on your choice, you can dive guns blazing or sneak stealthily above a swarm of enemies; hide in the shadows or use your environment to squash the monstrosities.
  • FULLY RANDOMIZED EVENTS
Randomized events occurring throughout the game provide replayability from varying sounds, crumbling ceilings, floors, and unexpected scares.
  • LORE & INTERACTION
Find out clues, pieces of lore, emails, audio logs, and video logs, and find out how Magnus Underwater City came to be, what happened in the meantime, and learn more about the dangers you're facing.
  • REALISTIC ENVIRONMENTS
Graphically realistic, sci-fi underwater station built underneath the waves and inside a massive ocean cliff. Its hallways seem abandoned. It is up to you to find your way out and survive the things that lurk within.
  • CO-OP POSSIBILITY
Bring a friend to Chasmal Fear and survive this nightmare together. The difficulty changes procedurally based on whether you play singleplayer or multiplayer co-op.

Game have a good atmosphere and sometimes visual. But everything else is pretty bad. Main problem is absolutely terrible controls.

I have had mixed feelings before the recent major update but going back into it is a lot better then it was on release. The story is interesting, The enemy's and enemy verity is amazing as well as the mutate feature of enemies. The graphics were amazing and haven't seen any bugs since the update also the consistency of the devs are amazing and I am looking forward to seeing what the devs do next. Almost forgot to mention the atmosphere and the jump scares are so good and a lot of them have got me, even some that weren't suppose to be jump scares, like getting scared by a door opening XD. I'd recommend this game to all horror lovers and enjoyers.

Nicly built. Great atmosphere. Limited ammo and healthcare stations. Very limited save points - yes... SAVE POINTS ! Welcome back to the early 2000s. -_- And as if this is not enough you get killed by mutants that run fast and take more than one shot to kill. You are left with zero chance. That is really bad gameplay design. So you get damaged and damaged again with no healing station in sight until you are dead. And because you can't save the game you will have to play parts of it again and again and again. WHAT A (R4P !!! Even if you can get it for free, you will still lose lifetime on this garbage. Avoid it.

Chasmal Fear, developed by MystiveDev and published by Wandering Wizard, is a first-person survival horror experience that builds its identity around tension, vulnerability, and a strong sense of environmental dread. Set within a deteriorating underwater research facility, the game places players in a confined and hostile space where survival depends as much on caution and planning as it does on reflexes. Rather than leaning into fast-paced action, it emphasizes a slower, more deliberate style of play that aligns closely with classic survival horror design. From the beginning, the game makes it clear that you are not meant to feel powerful. Resources are limited, ammunition is scarce, and every encounter carries risk. Exploration becomes a careful balancing act between curiosity and self-preservation, as venturing into new areas may yield valuable supplies but also expose you to unpredictable threats. The layout of the facility encourages backtracking and familiarity, but the sense of safety is never guaranteed, as previously explored areas can become dangerous again under certain conditions. One of the more distinctive elements of Chasmal Fear is its approach to enemy behavior. …

the game itself is not bad, an bodycam horror game with some good idea (and with other poor decision) the real big problem is the optimization because min or max setting, upscalin on or off, the game rarely runs over 30fps if you are lucky, seems an problem with illumination but again, settings dosen't change anything now the other poor stuff like monster animation, pretty bad (like the splitter adjust the leg like a baseball player to split) the initial cutscene with not so good dialog or voice action (but this is the least of the problem) its a shame because this game have a big potential but seems the dev abbandon the game if they (or some modder) can fix the performance problem can be a good game for 6€, not more
