Game have a good atmosphere and sometimes visual. But everything else is pretty bad. Main problem is absolutely terrible controls.4 found this helpful
I have had mixed feelings before the recent major update but going back into it is a lot better then it was on release. The story is interesting, The enemy's and enemy verity is amazing as well as the mutate feature of enemies. The graphics were amazing and haven't seen any bugs since the update also the consistency of the devs are amazing and I am looking forward to seeing what the devs do next. Almost forgot to mention the atmosphere and the jump scares are so good and a lot of them have got me, even some that weren't suppose to be jump scares, like getting scared by a door opening XD. I'd recommend this game to all horror lovers and enjoyers.2 found this helpful
Nicly built. Great atmosphere. Limited ammo and healthcare stations. Very limited save points - yes... SAVE POINTS ! Welcome back to the early 2000s. -_- And as if this is not enough you get killed by mutants that run fast and take more than one shot to kill. You are left with zero chance. That is really bad gameplay design. So you get damaged and damaged again with no healing station in sight until you are dead. And because you can't save the game you will have to play parts of it again and again and again. WHAT A (R4P !!! Even if you can get it for free, you will still lose lifetime on this garbage. Avoid it.1 found this helpful
Chasmal Fear, developed by MystiveDev and published by Wandering Wizard, is a first-person survival horror experience that builds its identity around tension, vulnerability, and a strong sense of environmental dread. Set within a deteriorating underwater research facility, the game places players in a confined and hostile space where survival depends as much on caution and planning as it does on reflexes. Rather than leaning into fast-paced action, it emphasizes a slower, more deliberate style of play that aligns closely with classic survival horror design. From the beginning, the game makes it clear that you are not meant to feel powerful. Resources are limited, ammunition is scarce, and every encounter carries risk. Exploration becomes a careful balancing act between curiosity and self-preservation, as venturing into new areas may yield valuable supplies but also expose you to unpredictable threats. The layout of the facility encourages backtracking and familiarity, but the sense of safety is never guaranteed, as previously explored areas can become dangerous again under certain conditions. One of the more distinctive elements of Chasmal Fear is its approach to enemy behavior. …1 found this helpful
the game itself is not bad, an bodycam horror game with some good idea (and with other poor decision) the real big problem is the optimization because min or max setting, upscalin on or off, the game rarely runs over 30fps if you are lucky, seems an problem with illumination but again, settings dosen't change anything now the other poor stuff like monster animation, pretty bad (like the splitter adjust the leg like a baseball player to split) the initial cutscene with not so good dialog or voice action (but this is the least of the problem) its a shame because this game have a big potential but seems the dev abbandon the game if they (or some modder) can fix the performance problem can be a good game for 6€, not more
i would recommend it, but when i died it put me back sooo far. *uninstalled*
