Players praise the game's original chess-themed concept and enjoyable mix-and-match mechanics that create interesting strategic puzzle-solving, though opinions are divided on execution quality. The main complaints center on clunky keyboard controls, overly tight and punishing platforming sections, and forced "golf" minigames that detract from the experience, with some players noting the developer appears unresponsive to feedback. Controller support is recommended and the game offers challenging gameplay that appeals to a broad audience, but the control scheme and difficulty balance issues crea
Controls are incredibly clunky without a controller. Forced "golf" sections are not fun at all. Dev does not respond to feedback.6 found this helpful

Very original concept that leads to a ton of fun mix & match combos. Trying to figure out which pieces to use against which obstacles is changeling but executing those moves is harder still. Would recommend using a Xbox controller2 found this helpful
Chetz is a great game that combines platform gameplay with Chess aesthetics. Don't be fooled by the simple graphics, the game is indeed challenging and requires precision. Good exercise to train your reflexes.1 found this helpful

The "Puzzle" part of the game barely require thinking, I can figure out how to pass without experimenting at all. However, "Platforming" part of the game is very hard and precise, to the point that player would spend 5 min on one level not because they don't know how to pass, but the level design in a way that player would need to use different piece on different timing, and the timing and position are very tight that one tiny mistiming or standing a bit too far will result to restart the level. Movement and Counter intuitive control. The movement is very clunky in multiple ways. First, player need to change pieces using arrow keys, but to be 'King' (default piece) player have to press 'Shift' button, which often used with the hand that isn't on arrow keys, and player cannot change to King by pressing same arrow key twice, making the controlling a part of "Challenge". Second, the velocity is not consistence, or rather not taking to account when designing the level, on some level the velocity of the piece make it very hard to fit in that 'precision' the level required, and each piece mo…
