The weakpoint of humanity's efforts to civilize is human nature, which continues to contradict the premise of civilization. Humans are egotistical by natural selection, and egoism can often lead to societal failure. But social failure is not genetic failure. Egotistical humans can certainly survive in civilization and after it. In order for human nature to change, natural selection must change it. In order for human nature to facilitate civilization, genetic success must correlate to civil organization. Look around you. Does it? The answer isnt a complete yes or no. The direction humans will go isnt eusocialism. Its not fierce isolation. Its some crafty in between, where we stand together just enough to live on our own.
