Climb Quest is a game that keeps its idea very simple. I am trying to climb through a huge world made up of floating islands and broken pieces of land while avoiding traps and finding my way higher and higher. I can play alone or with up to three other people, but even when I am on my own the main idea works well. There is a clear goal of reaching the top and destroying the Crystal of Chaos, so I always know what I am working towards. I like that the game does not bury the platforming under loads of unnecessary systems. The climbing itself is where most of the fun comes from for me. The game lets me use almost any surface as part of my route, so I am constantly looking around and working out where I can go next. There are collapsing platforms, strong winds and different traps that can send me back down if I am not careful. I like this because I am not just following one obvious path. Sometimes I can spot a safer way up, while other times I take a risk because I think I can make a difficult jump. It gives the world a nice feeling of freedom even though the main objective is always the same. The extra abilities also help keep the climb from becoming too basic. As I get higher, I un…
