"Climbtime" is some kind of weird VR focused tech demo where you climb up a bunch of jaggy polygons. It doesn't make much sense to me, either. Is this really what anyone wants to do with their time? Certainly I don't. Anyway there's not much to this "game". Just climb up stuff. Maybe in VR. It's also apparently incomplete with stuff "coming", but nobody seems to have wanted that. And that was years ago. This features fairly low quality low poly 3D visuals which will deter a lot of gamers, understandably. Gaming is a visual medium, and it's clear the developers behind this didn't understand that. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $3 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 8 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games d…3 found this helpful
