About Cold Blooded

Confront an action horror experience where you take on the role of a resilient and trained survivor named Amy. Earth has been invaded by hostile extraterrestrial beings and it is up to you to navigate through dangerous environments, scavenging for supplies and fighting back against the intruders.

The alien encounters during your journey will heighten the sense of danger and fear, immersing you in a fight for your life. The visceral and graphic nature of the attacks adds an intense element to the game as you face off against ruthless invaders, the brutal combat serves as a reminder of the high stakes and the constant threat of death. The sight of realistic blood splatters and wounds leaking in real time add to the overall sense of urgency and danger as you are constantly reminded of the consequences of failure or rewards during combat. You will feel the impact of each blow and the fragility of the intruders as well as yourself.

The world has changed and has become a more foreboding and mysterious environment. The dim atmosphere creates a feeling of uneasiness with eerie sound design and unsettling visuals. Attempting to find useful items to stay alive but unsure of what is behind each corner will require you to have quick reflexes and precise aiming to take down the lurking threat.

I just finished this game, and it took me about 4 hours to complete. The fights were intense all the way through. The combat primarily revolves around bare-fisted fighting, which adds a gritty realism to the alien encounters. I loved the combo mechanics and the counter takedowns; they felt satisfying and rewarding. I did find the difficulty to be a bit challenging at times, leading me to restart a couple of rounds, but it was fair and kept me on my toes. The horror elements really ramp up the tension during fights. Overall, if you're looking for a unique blend of horror and hand-to-hand combat, this game is definitely worth a try!

Game starts out really slow but the combat is sick. Really ramps up, give it a shot if you're looking for something different.

Unfortunately I purchased this games because of the user reviews being so positive about the combat... Not so much the case. Combat is very comparable to Callisto Protocol where melee combat is nothing more than a series of quicktime events that the player must simply suffer through in a game of simon says. On paper it sounds great, you have counters, throws, tackles but in execution every input is extremely delayed resulting in a very disjointed and disconnected feeling. The game feels incredibly unfinished and unpolished and doubles down on wasting the players time with cheap deaths, unskippable cutscenes and lack of checkpoints. Framerate is terrible on any reasonable setting, meaning if you want a constant 60fps you will need to run the game at medium to low setting at a very low resolution (sub 1080) in order to maintain. Theres is good stuff here but this is an early access game, not a finished product.

Graphics and gameplay options are limited. Controls have substantial latency. Combat is janky as hell. Ammo barely exists. Why are the aliens just gray humans with red eyes? Why does the crossbow sound like a pistol? Why would a crossbow bolt cause an oven to explode? Why did all the shadow guys turn to ash when I beat up their girlfriend? Why does the game crash as soon as I complete the map in the school? Why is my character's reaction to a deer flying through window, "Well, I guess I'll go outside without any idea what the threat is and without ammunition or weapons aside from THESE FISTS and my a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ run for it!" Leading me to wonder, "How have you survived this long?" How did she not know there was a house a 2 minute jog from her cabin? How did she get from the house to the school? Why didn't I get to explore the house for more resources before heading to the school of my own volition instead of being railroaded by a cutscene that explained absolutely nothing about why I was going anywhere at all instead of hunkering down in this nice sturdy house? Can you really call 3-4 crows a murder? I have only regrets.
