pretty fire give it a chance guys
While it is impressive that such an old game still has a playerbase, don't. It follows the exact same fate all online pvp games go through. Pay to Win and a cadre of people who desperately need to touch grass who will instantly kill you with their overpowered weapons.
I use to play this game back in 2008, it was actually fun back then, cheaters were still an issue but not as bad as they are today. They have recently switched their anti-cheat to Battleeye, which probably helped break a lot of cheats but the performance has gotten worse on this almost 20 year old game.... I cannot recommend it, until they actually start fixing issues and not just adding more microtransactions. They may end up eliminating majority of cheats, but in return they allow you to pay for cheats. You can have crazy speed bonus and protection bonus making you not only a legal speed hacker but also practically unkillable because of the crazy protection bonuses from these paid gear. It never use to be like this, it was not pay to win, now it is pay to get legal cheats.... My favorite gamemode, Quarantine Regen(Zombie mode), is the only saving grace. Every now and then you get a cheater that just one shots the entire lobby, and they are devious with how they do this, they wait till the later rounds so they can't be kicked. TLDR: You can pay for legal cheats, this game is pay to win 100% and never used to be like this until the new owner. The game also runs worse somehow…
