That’s basically what Compu-Tron x3000 feels like. It’s got all the vintage vibes—think a digital assistant you might’ve seen in an old ‘80s sci-fi flick, complete with basic apps, educational tools, and a dash of intrigue. But here’s the catch: it’s not just about reliving those simpler computing days. There's a whole mystery woven in, centering on the now-vanished C. Tech Industries and the enigmatic D.A.V.E. Who is D.A.V.E., and what the heck happened to this company? Well, that’s your job to figure out.
About This Game

Storyline
The game's narrative plays out like a vintage conspiracy theory buried in the files of a forgotten tech giant. In the early ‘80s, C. Tech Industries was all the rage, known for their educational software. But then, without warning, they just disappeared. No trace, no explanations. As you poke aroun…
Information / Review English
Compu-Tron x3000 falls into the casual game genre, which was developed by circyn software.
Gameplay / Story
Our story takes place in 1982. Technology continues to advance and an institute has made a name for itself. The institute is called: Technology company C. Tech Industries Compu-Tron x3000, which specializes and focuses on educational and entertainment applications. One day, contact with the institute simply stopped from one day to the next. The story is driven forward by an interactive narrative. The game presents a number of strategic challenges that require both tactical thinking and foresighted planning. Can you solve the narrative mystery and story behind it?
Pro
+ 80s flair + text based + suitable background music + appropriate graphic style + fair price + simple controls + some setting options + Achievements
Contra
- only English translation available
Conclusion
Compu-Tron x3000 offers you a versatile gaming experience that connects and combines multiple game elements. Compu-Tron x3000 is a great puzzle game and a perfect little game for those looking for something a little different with a brilliant retro feel. The tools alone are very useful and the mini games very fun, but the puzzles themselves and interactive storytelling in your investigations with D.A.VE. are fantastic - even if I am not the smartest person and may take a bit longer than many others to uncover all of the secrets! So if you're into retro computing, compelling storylines, puzzles, and games that contain actual useful tools for every day life - Compu-Tron x3000 is definitely worth a buy.

I'm really enjoying this game so far! It's like using an old computer from a 1980s movie - it's pretty authentic in that respect. I like the feeling that I'm finding secrets through this connection, it feels like Wargames a bit or some kind of 80s hacking movie! The gameplay is all about finding clues to gain access to more information over the network. At the start of the game, you're going to be reading up about the company, its employees and what they've done in the past etc. to be able to answer questions that will unlock new areas. In-between trying to investigate the mystery of this system, you can play around a bit with some of the old-school applications the computer has, like a calculator, periodic tables and some basic games like rock, paper scissors and 'guess the word'. Poking around the system is a lot of fun and it feels authentic. I'm enjoying it a lot and I think it's a pretty unique game at a good price. A lot of work seems to have gone into making it feel authentic and it really does set the atmosphere up really well. The writing is good and it's fun to hack around in there.

Interesting game that kept me intrigued throughout. It doesn't hold your hand and requires reading extensively in order to find the different clues and piece everything together. There's a lot of stuff to read and revisit, and I often found myself scratching my head until the penny dropped. I really enjoy investigation/detective games and love the retro look so this was right down my alley, but those looking for a more thrilling experience might find the game isn't for them. So to sum up, if you like the idea of a purely investigative game with a retro interface, go for it! This is quite a niche genre (unfortunately) and it's really satisfying when a game hits the spot :)
