About Cosmos point

Control a squad of fighters in turn-based battles. The game pays great attention to the details of equipment - armor, weapons, backpacks, a lot of grenades and other devices to achieve goals and do not forget the cartridges, without them the weapon will not shoot! Equip each fighter before landing on the mission, find equipment at locations or take it away from enemies. You can change any item of equipment right during the battle, you do not need to wait for a special moment or return to base. The death of a fighter means the loss of equipment, some of which can be picked up by the rest of the squad if they have a place for it. Take out as many resources as possible from missions to improve the space station, this will make it possible to store more items on the base, create the necessary items from other items and open new locations.Customize weapons to suit your goals, collect loot in missions, upgrade the space station and leave this sector of space, which has nothing but a graveyard of ships, looters and other dangers!

Here’s a tightened version that keeps your main point clear: I enjoy extraction shooters, prefer real-time combat over turn-based systems, and usually gravitate toward games with better character models. Despite all of that, Cosmos Point kept me hooked for around 30 hours. The core loop is familiar: build a squad, enter missions, explore, loot, extract, upgrade characters, and develop your base. During squad setup and missions, the weak character models were easy enough to ignore. The clunky menus were harder to overlook. The story and mystery were surprisingly engaging, even without voice acting. Missions were also unpredictable, which initially kept things interesting. The problem is that they often required very specific equipment or solutions that you could not reasonably anticipate. Because there is no option to abort a mission, realizing halfway through that your squad is not equipped for what the level demands becomes extremely frustrating. You are forced to wipe, regear another character, grind replacement resources, and attempt the mission again. Eventually, the game stopped feeling like an extraction game built around risk and started feeling like a repetitive grind …

So after I think beating it (once you did everything the story suggest you just wait and play around, so there is no endscreenish?) The game only real issue is some gotcha setup situation in the story missions. And at the beginning when you still weak it can end your run. Now technically if you have the radar you cannot lose the game, but you can be set back significantly where you have to farm a good hour to get back all the stuff you lost and attempt the story mission again. I HIGHLY suggest you save scum (copy out save files when on station view mode) until you get the radar, or have a working build you are comfortable. What to expect? A very solid game that has a progression and story to make you want to play it trough. You can only play with 2 units and have 4-6 build and you can use any combination including double up. The maps are nicelly designed, always give you a comfortable approach to fights and to utilise any build you want. It has samy rooms but randomly arranged, that does count. I don't like farming, but it never really felt too bad. Heavy item management, you need a clear idea what you go in for and juggle invertory to get the most stuff you need. Has a quite nea…

Interesting mix between tactical turn-based RPG and extraction shooter. Only if there was bigger number of enemies, weapons, environments....well, everything... Short video review: https://youtu.be/LiQp47kiKAo

Few other reviewers already mentioned that game is simple and it's true, but I believe it's actually good thing (at least for people like me). Difficulty isn't too high, mechanics are reaaally easy to learn, fortunately gameplay is fun anyway. Battles are almost strictly about positioning, so there is no crouching, changing position, no usable skills, just shoot/move/use granade or medkit. Sometimes (at least during first 3-5 hours) I was even excited a bit, playing slowly and cautious, there were few risky situations or lucky ones like randomly finding the medkit, while one of characters had few HP left. Skilltree is mostly small bonuses, some of them don't even sound too useful. Progress is noticable mostly when upgrading your weapons with crafted/found parts and changing armor to better (I don't even know if armors stats differ or do they have only higher durability). And for sure when upgrading your workshop or bit less - laboratory. Inventory managment is important mechanic here. There are only few slots in backpacks, so at first it's really tough to say what should you take with you during mission, which actually slowed down me at first and imo - made game more fun. Anyway…

This is a fantastic hardcore tactical turn-based Tarkov in space. It's a great game, a great challenge. I definitely recommend it!
