COUCH VERSUS

Welcome to Couch Versus. The title is a unique, shared screen competition between two players, with one player controlling the hero and the second player controlling the monster spawns. The hero must avoid the multitude of different monsters that will be spawned with only one desire - to feast on your body. Our hero only has a jump ability and a chargeable shot with three stages of power. The monsters must plan out their attack with strategic placement of their portals, and choose which monsters to take for the match. Let the battle commence! The title is a casual, action, strategy, indie title that has an old-school flavor, with gameplay taking you back 20 years with the nostalgic feeling of a console from the past. It was designed to be a competitive couch potato experience, but it does have single player components to it as well. In it, you can practice as the hero in a level-based play; once you finish it, you will unlock endless mode, where you endure increasingly difficult waves of monsters. An Original game with a new idea , its realy fun to play specialy with friends.

The game concept is original and solid, I can see a lot of potential in this game there are funny moments when playing with someone, the controls are really good. it might seem a little bit confusing at first but once you play the first game you will get the hang of it .. the arcade mode is some extra content if your solo I found most of the monsters don't have a unique feature, but a couple of them are really cool, like that bucket one overall its a simple game with a unique idea that makes for a lot of fun with a friend. suggestions: 1- an option for controlling the player with the motor 2- sound design could use some work .. especially the foot sound it can get disturbing when there are multiple enemies 3- there is a bug in the arcade mode .. the levels names are not ordered, you start with level 2 then level 11! 4- Im not a big fan of the player weapon its too simple 5- some maps are not clear, the bridges in the foggy map are not clear I didn't even know there is a bridge

Couch Versus is an odd game that attempts a unique hide mechanic but ultimately fails and makes no sense. The primary goal as the baddie is to hide your monster spawn portals in an effort to kill the hero (player 2) by sending your pre-assigned monster team to slay him. Unfortunately the mechanic fails as it only works the first time a monster exits the portal... from that point on the hero is aware of your portal placements, so it feels a bit pointless. There's very little in the way of a tutorial, though the developer does try to explain the game but the fact of the matter is, after less than one hour of play i was frustrated and bored. Interesting concept, poorly executed.
