Absolutely life changing. I bought Cousin Catcher expecting a silly physics arcade game about throwing a baby and instead received a dense, emotionally rich meditation on freedom, responsibility, and cosmic ambition disguised as slapstick chaos. On the surface, yes, you launch your baby cousin into the sky from what appears to be a prison courtyard. But that setting is doing serious narrative work. The orange jumpsuits are not just costumes, they are symbols of constraint. Society has labeled both the thrower and the baby as confined, limited, and forgotten. And yet, despite this, the player dares to throw upward. To hope. To believe in vertical movement in a world designed to keep you grounded. The upgrade system is where the game truly becomes philosophical. Seagulls are not just enemies, they are manifestations of random cruelty. The chainsaw is not violence, it is self defense against a world that attacks joy for no reason. Lightning represents fate, sudden and unfair, and the kite is humanity’s oldest response to the sky: understanding it rather than fearing it.
