Craftae is a well-crafted deck-building survival game with impressive depth and multiple playstyles, offering 30-120 minute runs across different dungeons with unique enemy types and loot drops. Players consistently praise its strategic complexity, excellent quality-of-life features, and strong value for the price, though some note the steep difficulty curve and wish for more streamlined crafting UI to reduce the need for constant menu navigation. The game successfully differentiates itself from similar titles through its organic gameplay feel and the meaningful impact of starting biome select
A solid game based on the cards as building/people/resources concept, but has a nice twist in that instead of one long campaign, you have multiple different potential enemy strongholds with some waves to survive, with different difficulties, with the final adding a unique gimmick, and enabling infinite waves. Each stronghold has very different enemies within, ramping to be brutal, and dropping different resources. On top of that, you can choose two starting areas to build your initial resources off of, and these drastically change the playstyle. For example, in the first stronghold, the enemies drop bones, which you can use to make a really nice shield and spear for your squire, but when you face slimes, no bones drop. which means you need some other way to gear your people. Huge bonus points dev actually listens to feedback and responds, and is willing to make improvements.1 found this helpful
At first I thought this was a knock-off of "Stacklands", but playing it a deep complexity blossomed with each card. Unlike the aformentioned, Craftae plays much more organically and is much more 'alive' than other card-based City-Builders. Incredible for the humble price.1 found this helpful
Really cool survival game! Easily worth the price. You start out with 1 villager, your village and 2 biomes. Everything else you have to build up from that, and defend against waves of monsters coming from a dungeon. A game takes I think 30-120 minutes, but it can vary more, depending on how fast you are. The different biomes give you different resources, while the different dungeons spawn different enemies. The monsters also drop different loot. It's really well done, the QoL is really good. There's a tutorial that you can skip, and there's also helpful contextual hints that you can turn off, so you're never lost, but you can also just discover the game for yourself. The in-game encyclopedia is also really good in this regard: it's totally optional, but it keeps track of recipes and what you discovered. "Limiting" player expansion is also done really well, in a way that makes you think about what to work on and what to delay for later. It's not a hard limit, technically there's nothing stopping you, and sometimes it's actually worth to expand faster, depending on your situation. The difficulty goes higher than I expected, although with experience I think everyone can complete …1 found this helpful
Oh my gosh. this game hates me. but It's so fun to play. I finally beat the first goblin camp after like 40 or something hours in game lol Sooooo difficult. I would love to see things a little easier to craft - like, for instance, when you cntl+click on something I'd like to be able to hover over the things you can make and see how to make them at a glance. It's annoying having to go into the craft tab every time, and losin my spot lol good game though. Love love love LOVE this game. Thank you dev. Game hates me, but I love it. I will be playing more. (( received for free <3 Ty ty dev really enjoyed the opportunity to play for free! ))1 found this helpful

There are so many branching paths to take. [*]I love how the game is broken up into 30-60 min games/matches/challenge runs. It makes the game somewhat casual in nature to play. [*]The difficulty curve of the game feels manageable and like I actually have to put thought into what I am doing, and how I want to progress. There is the Macro Strategy of what Starting Biomes to pick to make it thought the dungeon. As well as strategies for dealing with the next wave to come. [*]The randomness at the beginning doesn't feel unbalanced, though I would like to see the %Chance of each of the drops. [*]I feel like even after completing the Collection some day, that this game has a lot of replay ability.
